UNIR Constitutional Nationalist Party
The Constitutional Nationalist Party – Union for Integration and Resurgence ( es, Partido Nacionalista Constitucional – Unión para la Integración y el Resurgimiento, PNC–UNIR), often known by the shortened name UNIR Constitutional Nationalist Party or simply UNIR Party, is a conservative political party in Argentina founded in 1982 by Alberto Asseff, a former member of the Radical Civic Union. Alberto Asseff
Alberto Emilio Asseff (born 31 October 1942) is an Argentine lawyer and politician who served a National Deputy between 2011 and 2015, reassuming office in 2019. Early life and education Asseff graduated at Law at the University of Buenos Aires in 1968, where he started to be politically active in the centrist Civic Radical Union (UCR). After his graduation, he worked as an advisor in some administrations of UCR's politicians like Ricardo Balbín and Arturo Illia. In 1982 he created the National Constitutional Party, with former members of UCR. In this party was where Alberto Fernández, president of Argentina, made his first steps in politics. Fernandez left the NCP when Asseff started to be identified with some conservative Argentine politicians. The Radical Civic Union ( es, Unión Cívica Radical, UCR) is a centrist and social-liberal political party in Argentina. It has been ideologically heterogeneous, ranging from social liberalism to social democracy. The UCR is a member of the Socialist International. Founded in 1891 by radical liberals, it is the oldest political party active in Argentina after the Liberal Party of Corrientes.
