UMass Lowell River Hawks Men's Soccer
The UMass Lowell River Hawks men's soccer program represents University of Massachusetts Lowell in all NCAA Division I men's college soccer competitions. The River Hawks compete in the America East Conference. The program began in 1976. History The River Hawks spent most of their history playing in NCAA Division II before transitioning to Division I in the early 2010s. The program achieved national success in 2016, when in their final year of transition, were ranked as high as 13th in the nation. Kyle Zenoni
Kyle Zenoni (born February 16, 1984, in Hartland, Wisconsin) is a former Americans, American soccer player and current soccer coach who last played for Bolivian side La Paz F.C., after a switch from USL First Division club Minnesota Thunder. He is the head men's soccer coach of the UMass Lowell River Hawks men's soccer, UMass Lowell River Hawks. Biography Zenoni attended college at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee. He captained the Panthers in 2005. He appeared in all 23 games at the mid-field position, making 22 starts. He scored 10 goals in four years, taking 71 shots. Kyle had 8 assists while playing at UWM and started 59 out of 83 games. NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Championship
The NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Championship is the annual tournament held by the NCAA to determine the top men's Division II college soccer program in the United States. It has been played annually since 1972; prior to then, all teams competed in a single class. The most successful program has been Southern Connecticut State, with six national titles. The current champion are Franklin Pierce, who won their first national title in 2022, defeating CSU Pueblo, 2–0, in the final. Format The Division II tournament is structured around four unbalanced Super Regionals from the eight NCAA regions (Atlantic, Central, East, Midwest, South, South Central, Southeast, and West). NCAA Division II (D-II) is an intermediate-level division of competition in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). It offers an alternative to both the larger and better-funded Division I and to the scholarship-free environment offered in Division III. Before 1973, the NCAA's smaller schools were grouped together in the College Division. In 1973, the College Division split in two when the NCAA began using numeric designations for its competitions. The Northeast-10 Conference (NE-10) is a college athletic conference affiliated with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division II level. Member institutions are located in the northeastern United States in the states of Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, and Vermont. America East Conference
The America East Conference is a collegiate athletic conference affiliated with NCAA Division I founded in 1979, whose members are located in the Northeastern United States. The conference has nine core members including eight public research universities, three of which, the University of Maine, the University of New Hampshire, and the University of Vermont, are the flagship universities of their states. The two non-flagship university centers of the State University of New York are in the conference: the University at Albany and Binghamton University.
