Hennadiy Olehovych Korban ( uk, Геннадій Олегович Корбан; born May 24, 1970) is a Ukrainian businessman and politician. A patron of the Jewish community in Dnipro, he served as the head of the UKROP party from July 12, 2015 to January 23, 2016. Biography Early life and business career Hennadiy Korban was born on May 24, 1970 in Dnipropetrovsk (now Dnipro) to a Jewish family of Soviet engineers. His parents are also Israeli citizens. Raised in Dnipropetrovsk, he graduated from secondary school No. 21 in 1987 and unsuccessfully attempted to enrol at the faculty of philosophy at a university in Rostov-on-Don. He later returned to Dnipropetrovsk and entered the National Mining University of Ukraine, but shortly suspended his studies as he was called up for military service in the Soviet Armed Forces. Volodymyr Zinoviyovych Parasyuk ( uk, Володи́мир Зіно́війович Парасю́к; born 9 July 1987) is a Ukrainian military commander and politician who served as a People's Deputy of Ukraine from 27 November 2014 to 29 August 2019. Previously, he served as a member of the Dnipro Battalion and as a protest leader during Euromaidan. Biography Volodymyr Zinoviyovych Parasyuk was born on 9 July 1987 in the village of Maidan, in Ukraine's Lviv Oblast. Parasyuk took part in the Euromaidan protests, where he was a ''sotnik'' (commander) of a group of defenders of the Maidan (a ''sotnia''). Borys Albertovych Filatov ( uk, Борис Альбертович Філатов; born 7 March 1972, in Dnipropetrovsk) is a Ukraine, Ukrainian politician, journalist, lawyer, businessman, and the current Mayor of Dnipro. 2019 Ukrainian Parliamentary Election
Snap elections to the Ukrainian parliament were held on 21 July 2019. Originally scheduled to be held at the end of October, these elections were brought forward after newly inaugurated President of Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy dissolved parliament on 21 May 2019, during his inauguration. The election result was the one-party majority, a novelty in Ukraine, for President Zelenskyy's Servant of the People party with 254 seats. About 80 percent of the elected candidates were new to parliament; 83 deputies managed to get reelected from 8th Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada, the previous parliament and 13 deputies from earlier convocations. All deputies from Servant of the People were political newcomers. 61 percent of the new MPs had never before been engaged in politics.
