''UFC 50: The War of '04'' was a mixed martial arts event held by the Ultimate Fighting Championship on October 22, 2004, at the Trump Plaza in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The event was broadcast live on pay-per-view in the United States, and later released on DVD. History Headlining the card were Tito Ortiz and Patrick Côté. Côté was a late replacement for Lion's Den fighter Guy Mezger, who pulled out of the event after being taken to the hospital due to stroke-like symptoms.http://www.kenshamrock.com/news.php?id=72/articles/news Patrick Côté was moved from the undercard to the main event. The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is an American mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion company based in Las Vegas, Nevada. It is owned and operated by Zuffa, a wholly owned subsidiary of Endeavor Group Holdings. It is the largest MMA promotion company in the world as of 2011. UFC's first event, UFC 1, took place on November 12, 1993. Each UFC event contains several fights. Ivan E. Salaverry (born January 11, 1971) is a Canadian mixed martial arts fighter and instructor. He is a member of Tito Ortiz's Team Punishment, and is known for his well-rounded skills.
