UEFA European Championship Video Games
The UEFA European Championship has its own video games licensed from European football's governing body, UEFA. Six games have been released so far, with the first game released in 1996. Originally held by Gremlin Interactive, it was then held by Electronic Arts from Euro 2000 until Euro 2012. Konami have the rights from Euro 2016 onwards. UEFA Euro 1992 The game developed and published by TecMagik was released for the Sega Master System in 1992 to coincide with UEFA Euro 1992. The game featured both single-player and multiplayer game modes. Players could play in a friendly match or in the tournament mode. UEFA Euro 1996 The game by Gremlin Interactive modified some parts in their ''Actua Soccer'' title, including the 16 teams present in the final stage with accurate rosters and stadiums, as well as Euro 96 mode, Exhibition Match, Practice Penalties, and Practice game. Gremlin Graphics Software Limited, later Gremlin Interactive Limited and ultimately Infogrames Studios Limited was a British software house based in Sheffield, working mostly in the home computer market. Like many software houses established in the 1980s, their primary market was the 8-bit range of computers such as the ZX Spectrum, Amstrad CPC, MSX, Commodore 16 and Commodore 64. The company was acquired by French video game publisher Infogrames in 1999, and was renamed Infogrames Studios in 2000. Infogrames Studios closed down in 2003. Sega Saturn
The is a home video game console developed by Sega and released on November 22, 1994, in Japan, May 11, 1995, in North America, and July 8, 1995, in Europe. Part of the fifth generation of video game consoles, it was the successor to the successful Sega Genesis. The Saturn has a dual- CPU architecture and eight processors. Its games are in CD-ROM format, and its game library contains several ports of arcade games as well as original games. Development of the Saturn began in 1992, the same year Sega's groundbreaking 3D Model 1 arcade hardware debuted. The Saturn was designed around a new CPU from the Japanese electronics company Hitachi. Sega added another video display processor in early 1994 to better compete with Sony's forthcoming PlayStation. Campione 2000
Campione 2000 was the official song of the UEFA Euro 2000 held in the Netherlands and Belgium. It was performed by Swedish musician E-Type and written by E-Type, Rick Blaskey and Kent Brainerd. It gained a huge popularity during the tournament and has since been heard in football games around Europe, both in national and international games. It translates as "Champion" in English. The chorus of the song resembles the chorus of a Dutch popular song "Oranje Boven" which insist the link between Netherlands with the Royal Dutch Family and a national chant honoring the red-white-blue tricolor Dutch national flag. Bo Martin Erik Erikson (born 27 August 1965), better known by his stage name E-Type, is a Swedish eurodance musician, songwriter and record producer. His professional name is based on the Jaguar E-Type sports car. Biography Early years Erikson was born in Uppsala. His father is Bo ("Bosse") G. Erikson (b. 1933), known as the host of the science TV-show ''Vetenskapens Värld'' (World of Science) on Sveriges Television, SVT. His mother's name was Elisabeth and he has one sibling, a sister Erika. His mother died of cancer in 1987.
