UEC European Track Championships
The European Track Cycling Championships are a set of elite level competition events held annually for the various disciplines and distances in track cycling, exclusively for European cyclists, and regulated by the European Cycling Union (UEC). They were first held in their current format in 2010, when elite level cyclists competed for the first time following an overhaul of European track cycling. The UEC agreed with the governing bodies of six other major European sports from 2018 to integrate its four Olympic-class events, including track cycling, into the new European Championships event on a quadrennial basis. Beginning with 2018, every fourth edition of the competition will form part of the multi-sport event. While track cycling also forms part of the 2019 European Games in Minsk, these events are not regarded as European Championships but as the Cycling programme of the European Games, and the UEC event will also be held later in the same year. 2016 UEC European Track Championships
The 2016 UEC European Track Championships is the seventh edition of the elite UEC European Track Championships in track cycling and will take place at the Velodrome de Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, France, between 19 and 23 October. The Event was organised by the European Cycling Union. All European champions are awarded the UEC European Champion jersey which may be worn by the champion throughout the year when competing in the same event at other competitions. The 10 Olympic events (sprint, team sprint, team pursuit, keirin and omnium for men and women), as well as 12 other events are on the program for these European Championships. 2011 UEC European Track Championships
The 2011 European Track Championships was the second edition of the elite European Track Championships in track cycling and took place at the Omnisport Arena in Apeldoorn, Netherlands, between 21 and 23 October. All ten Olympic events, ( sprint, team sprint, keirin, team pursuit and omnium all for both men and women) and the non-Olympic men's madison championship and points races for both genders were held as part of the championships. The Championships were a qualification event for the 2012 Olympic Games. The opening night of competition was marred by technical difficulties, specifically the mechanical breakdown of the fixed gates system. as a result of which all releases reverted to hand or manual releases. This mechanical difficulty caused two German false starts in the Women's Team Pursuit final, and may have played some part in the shock failure of Great Britain to make the medal finals in the Men's Team Sprint event. Velodrome Suisse
The Velodrome Suisse is an indoor velodrome in Grenchen, Switzerland. The hall covers an area of 8000 square meters and has a capacity for 1800 spectators. The velodrome itself is meters long, made of Siberian spruce wood and is applied according to the UCI standards. The banked curve is 46% steep and includes a vertical drop of 7 meters. The velodrome primary serves as a training center for the Swiss team and for the junior selection, but the track is also available to recreational cyclists. The interior consists of three different surfaces, which can also be used for other sports, fairs and concerts but also for cultural and economic events. In addition, the Velodrome Suisse houses a gym, a training center with medical and physio practice, the BMC Concept Store, Restaurant and Catering, and 30 hotel beds. Grenchen
Grenchen (french: Granges) is a municipality in the district of Lebern in the canton of Solothurn in Switzerland. 2015 UEC European Track Championships
The 2015 UEC European Track Championships was the sixth edition of the elite UEC European Track Championships in track cycling and took place at the Velodrome Suisse in Grenchen, Switzerland, between 14 and 18 October. The Event was organised by the European Cycling Union. All European champions are awarded the UEC European Champion jersey which may be worn by the champion throughout the year when competing in the same event at other competitions. The 10 Olympic events (sprint, team sprint, team pursuit, keirin and omnium for men and women), as well as 11 other events are on the program for these European Championships. Vélodrome Amédée Détraux
The Vélodrome Amédée Détraux is an outdoor velodrome in Baie-Mahault, Guadeloupe, France. Before 2010 it was called Vélodrome de Gourde-Liane. The concrete track has a length of and is the largest velodrome of the Antilles. It has a capacity for 9000 spectators, making it the largest stadium in Guadeloupe. The track is used especially for cyclists from Guadeloupe. Baie-Mahault is a commune in the overseas department and region of Guadeloupe, France. It is the second most populated commune of Guadeloupe, after Les Abymes. The extensive industrial zone of Jarry in Baie-Mahault is by far the most industrialized commune in the islands and the largest industrial park in the Lesser Antilles. The 2013 UEC European Track Championships was the fourth edition of the elite UEC European Track Championships in track cycling and took place at the Omnisport Arena in Apeldoorn, Netherlands, between 18 and 20 October. Cido Arena
Kalnapilio Arena, formerly Cido Arena, is the largest multifunctional arena in Panevėžys, Lithuania. It generally hosts track cycling events, as well as basketball games and concerts. The basketball club BC Lietkabelis, which currently competes in the domestic LKL league, uses the facility for all of its LKL home fixtures. It was opened on October 24, 2008. It replaced Sports Palace Aukštaitija as the home of BC Lietkabelis. The arena boasts an indoor 250 m long Olympic cycling track, the only one in the Baltic States.
