2014 São Tomé And Príncipe Championship
The 2014 São Tomé and Principe Championship was the 29th season of the São Tomé and Principe Championship the top-level football championship of São Tomé and Principe. It began in 10 May (a week later than scheduled ) and concluded on December 17. Two national final matches occurred in the season. UDRA from São Tomé island won their first and only title. The club was reduced to 10 clubs and appeared in that number until late 2015, the competition began in May and finished in October. Geographically all clubs that took part in the Premier Division were in the east and those in the west were relegated last season. São Tomé and Principe Championship (Portuguese: ''Campeonato Nacional'') is the top division of the São Toméan Football Federation. In the current 2021/22 season there are 18 teams participating in two separate leagues - 12 teams from São Tomé Island, whose league has two relegation places, alongside 6 teams from Príncipe Island, which operates as a single division with no relegation. The championship is decided in a match between the São Tomé Island champions and the Príncipe Island champions. The champion heads to the qualifying round of the CAF Champions League each season, for some seasons, there were no participants. Since 1998, the champion competes in the São Tomé and Príncipe Super Cup in the following year.
