UCLA Bruins Women's Basketball
The UCLA Bruins women's basketball program was established in 1974. The current coach is Cori Close. The team was a member of the Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (AIAW) until joining the NCAA in 1984. The UCLA Bruins women's basketball team won the AIAW National Championship in 1978, and a banner commemorating the championship hangs in Pauley Pavilion, the current home of the Bruins basketball teams. Denise Curry
Denise Curry (born August 22, 1959) is an American former basketball player and college and professional basketball coach. Curry was inducted in the inaugural class at the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame in 1999. College basketball Born in Fort Benton, Montana, Curry moved to Davis, California by the time she was in high school. She graduated from Davis Senior High School. During her college playing career she led UCLA to AIAW National Championship in 1978, has been named All-America three times (1979, 1980, 1981), set fourteen school records and was all-time leading scorer (3,198 points) and rebounder (1,310 points). Michelle Greco
Michelle Greco (born March 24, 1980) is a retired basketball player. Greco started her basketball career with Crescenta Valley High School, where she scored 2,397 career points during the mid to late 1990s. While on the UCLA Bruins women's basketball team from 1998 to 2003, Greco played in the 1999 NCAA Division I women's basketball tournament and reached the Elite Eight. Anitra Necole "Nikki" Blue (born March 29, 1984) is an American professional basketball assistant coach for the Phoenix Mercury. High school Born and raised in Bakersfield, California, Blue played her high school career at West High School. Blue set the CIF Central Section record for points scored in a single season (913 in the 2000–01 season) and career (2,934 points). Blue averaged 29 points per game her senior year at West and lead Kern County in assist per game as well. Blue is regarded as the best player to ever come out of the CIF Central Section. The Atlanta Dream are an American professional basketball team based in Atlanta, playing in the Eastern Conference in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). Monique Billings
Monique Charice Billings (born May 2, 1996) is an American professional basketball player for the Atlanta Dream of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). She was drafted into the WNBA in 2018 by the Dream. College career UCLA Billings played basketball at Santiago High School in Corona, California. Kenny Washington (basketball)
Kenneth Washington is an American retired basketball player and coach. As a player, he won two national championships playing college basketball with the UCLA Bruins and represented the United States national team in the 1970 FIBA World Championship. He was also the first head coach in UCLA women's basketball history. Washington, a guard out of Robert Smalls High School in Beaufort, South Carolina, played for coach John Wooden at UCLA from 1963 to 1966, where he was a key member of Wooden's first two NCAA championship teams in 1964 and 1965.
