The UBC Thunderbirds women's ice hockey program represent the University of British Columbia in the Canada West Universities Athletic Association. The UBC Thunderbirds are the athletic teams that represent the University of British Columbia in the University Endowment Lands just outside the city limits of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Brynäs IF Dam
Brynäs IF Dam are an ice hockey team in the Swedish Women's Hockey League (SDHL). They play in Gävle, on the eastern-central coast of Sweden, at the Monitor ERP Arena. A constituent part of the Swedish sports club Brynäs IF, they are the sister team of Brynäs IF of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). History Between 2010 and 2013, the club advanced to the Riksserien playoff finals four seasons in a row, finishing in second place each time. In 2014, the club unveiled new jerseys, the only ones in Europe to be completely ad-free. Tatiana Rafter
Tatiana Rafter (born February 27, 1992) is a Canadian ice hockey coach and retired forward. During her playing career, she played in the European Women's Hockey League (EWHL), the Zhenskaya Hockey League (ZhHL), and the National Women's Hockey League (NWHL). Career From 2010 to 2015, she attended the University of British Columbia (UBC) and played with the UBC Thunderbirds of Canada West, notching 116 points in 129 U Sports games. In 2014, she became the first UBC player in history to be named Canada West Player of the Year. Swedish Women's Hockey League
The Swedish Women's Hockey League ( sv, Svenska damhockeyligan), abbreviated SDHL, is the elite league for women's ice hockey in Sweden. It was established in 2007 as the by the Swedish Ice Hockey Association and was renamed prior to the 2016–17 SDHL season, 2016–17 season. Djurgården IF Hockey Dam are a professional ice hockey club in the Swedish Women's Hockey League (SDHL). They play in Stockholm at Hovet. The team is a section within the Djurgårdens IF multi-sport organization and are affiliated with its many other teams. History In March 2014, the Djurgårdens IF organisation announced its intention to form a women's ice hockey section, with Danijela Rundqvist in charge of recruitment and Jared Cipparone serving as head coach. Long Beach Ice Dogs
The Long Beach Ice Dogs were an American professional ice hockey team based in Long Beach, California at the Long Beach Sports Arena. They played until the end of the 2006–07 ECHL season. History The Ice Dogs trace their origins to the San Diego Gulls, a team in the now-defunct International Hockey League (IHL), that began play in 1990. In 1995, the team moved north to become the Los Angeles Ice Dogs. Due to poor attendance at the Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena, the team was on the move again after just one season, this time to Long Beach, California, where it retained the "Ice Dogs" name and played at the Long Beach Sports Arena. Danielle Dube
Danielle Dube (born March 10, 1976) played for the Canadian National women's ice hockey team from 1994 to 1998 and from 2000 to 2002. She was a late cut from the 1998 and 2002 Canadian Olympic teams. On December 11, 2002, Danielle Dube became the third female goaltender to start in goal for a professional men's team. Dube was the goalie for the Long Beach Ice Dogs in a loss against the San Diego Gulls. She stopped 12 of 13 shots for the Ice Dogs. In 2008, she had considered approaching the Vancouver Canucks, with hopes of earning a recommendation to play for the ECHL's Victoria Salmon Kings. The Buffalo Beauts are a professional ice hockey team based in Amherst, New York, United States. The team was established in 2015 as one of the four founding franchises of the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF), originally named the National Women's Hockey League (NWHL).
