UAI Urquiza (women) Players
Club Deportivo UAI Urquiza (formerly "Club Ferrocarril Urquiza") is an Argentine professional sports club based in Villa Lynch, General San Martín Partido of Greater Buenos Aires. Its men's football team currently plays at Primera B Metropolitana, the third division of the Argentine football league system. However, it is more recognized internationally by its women's side, which has competed in most of the more recent editions of the Copa Libertadores Femenina and became the main source of players for the Argentina women's national team. Apart from football, other disciplines hosted by UAI Urquiza are artistic gymnastics, basketball, handball, rugby union, and volleyball. General Urquiza Railway
The General Urquiza Railway (FCGU) (in Spanish: Ferrocarril General Urquiza), named after the Argentine general and politician Justo José de Urquiza, is a standard gauge railway of Argentina which runs approximately northwards from Buenos Aires to Posadas, with several branches in between. It was also one of the six state-owned Argentine railway companies formed after President Juan Perón's nationalisation of the railway network in 1948. The six companies were managed by Ferrocarriles Argentinos which was later broken up during the process of railway privatisation beginning in 1991 during Carlos Menem's presidency. 2015 Copa Libertadores Femenina
The 2015 Copa Libertadores Femenina was the 7th edition of the Copa Libertadores Femenina, South America's premier women's club football tournament organized by CONMEBOL. The tournament was held in the city of Medellín, Colombia, from 28 October to 8 November 2015. It was the first time the tournament is hosted outside Brazil. The final was won by Ferroviária 3–1 over Colo-Colo the sixth time a Brazilian team has won the title. The Primera División A is the main league competition for women's football in Argentina. The tournament is ruled by the Argentine Football Association (AFA), with its first season held in 1991. The competition was named "Campeonato de Fútbol Femenino" until 2016, when a second division (" Primera División B") was created so the championship was renamed to "Primera A" as it represents the first level on pyramid. Amadeo Raúl Carrizo (12 June 1926 – 20 March 2020), popularly known by his first name "Amadeo", was an Argentine football goalkeeper and manager. Carrizo is considered a pioneer of the position, helping to innovate techniques and strategies for goalkeepers. The IFFHS ranked Carrizo as the best South American keeper of the 20th century in 1999. He was the first goalkeeper in Argentina to wear gloves, following an example by Italy's Giovanni Viola. He also was the first one to regularly leave the penalty area to defend his goal and the first one to use goal kicks as a strategy to start counterattacks. His way of playing has inspired many famous South American keepers, most notably Hugo Orlando Gatti, René Higuita, and José Luis Chilavert. Club Sportivo Palermo was an Argentine football club that played in the Primera División during the 1920s. After being relegated in the 1930s and having played at lower divisions, the club was finally disbanded in the 1980s. History On May 18, 1908, Club Sportivo Palermo was established, adopting blue as its jersey color. The Primera C Metropolitana is one of the two professional leagues that form the fourth level of the Argentine football league system. Primera C Metropolitana is made up of 20 clubs mainly from the city of Buenos Aires and its metropolitan area (Greater Buenos Aires). The other league at level four is the Torneo Federal B, where teams from regional leagues take part. Format Primera C is currently organised into two league tournaments, the Apertura (opening) and the Clausura (closing).
