UAAP Season 75
UAAP Season 75 was the 2012–2013 athletic year of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines. The season's theme was "Unbreakable at 75" in relation to the league's diamond year. It was hosted by National University. The men's basketball and the women's volleyball tournaments have been aired by ABS-CBN Channel 2 and Studio 23, the former for the thirteenth consecutive year and the latter since Season 69. This season, the men's football and women's softball both became a seven-school tournament. National University made a comeback in these two events. NU was participating in these two events in the 1940s up to the 1950s. NU also fielded for the first time men's and women's teams in Taekwondo to also make these events a seven-school tournament. As seven-school tournaments, men's football and women's softball will now include the Final 4 in its format. The National University (NU), colloquially ''National U'', is a private non–sectarian coeducational university located in Sampaloc, Manila, Philippines. The founder of the university, Mariano F. Rizal Memorial Sports Complex
The Rizal Memorial Sports Complex (RMSC; formerly known as Rizal Memorial Field) is a national sports complex of the Philippines, located on Pablo Ocampo St. (formerly Vito Cruz St.), Malate, Manila. It is named in honor of the country's national hero, José Rizal (1861–1896). NCAA Season 88
NCAA Season 88 is the 2012–13 season of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (Philippines), National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). The host school, Colegio de San Juan de Letran, will lead the opening ceremonies at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on June 23, 2012. Associated Broadcasting Company, TV5, via its Sports5 production, will air the men's basketball tournament at AKTV on Intercontinental Broadcasting Corporation, IBC, its first year of airing the league. With its new TV contract, the league was allowed to schedule Saturday games; on its old TV coverage partner ABS-CBN, no weekend games were scheduled. UST Salinggawi Dance Troupe
The UST Salinggawi Dance Troupe (or simply ''Salinggawi'' or ''SDT''), is the University-wide organization for dance and the official dance troupe of the University of Santo Tomas (UST). The group is known for its versatility covering wide array of genre from performing arts to cheerleading, from contemporary to breakdancing. The Salinggawi Dance Troupe is also the official cheerdance team along with the official pep squad and drumline - the U.S.T. Yellow Jackets of the University of Santo Tomas. The FEU Tamaraws are the varsity teams of Far Eastern University in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP). The collegiate women's varsity teams are called the ''Lady Tamaraws'' while the high school varsity teams are called the ''Baby Tamaraws''. History Far Eastern University was one of the founding members of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) of the Philippines in 1924. UP Pep Squad
The University of the Philippines Varsity Pep Squad, more popularly known as the UP Pep Squad or simply UP Pep, was formed in 1994. Beginning as a group of 5 UP basketball fans known as the "Hecklers", the squad eventually became the official cheerleading and cheerdance team of the University of the Philippines. The squad performs at the halftime of the basketball games of the UP Fighting Maroons in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines and represents the University in the UAAP Cheerdance Competition, where they were the champions for eight non-consecutive years (1999, 2000, 2001, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011 and 2012). UAAP Cheerdance Competition
The UAAP Cheerdance Competition is an annual one-day event of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines for cheerdancing. The sequence of the performance are determined by drawing of lots prior the competition. Before the announcement of winners and after all squads have performed, a recap is shown during the telecast. Only the Top 3 are announced at the end of the competition. The tally sheet of the total number of points garnered by all squads will be posted on social media briefly after the announcement of the top three. The 2015 UAAP Cheerdance Competition currently stands as the most attended collegiate sporting event in both the UAAP and across the Philippines, with a record-breaking 25,388 paying audience. Point Differential
Goal difference, goal differential or points difference is a form of tiebreaker used to rank sport teams which finish on equal points in a league competition. Either "goal difference" or "points difference" is used, depending on whether matches are scored by goals (as in ice hockey and association football) or by points (as in rugby union and basketball).
