UAAP Season 67 Men's Basketball Tournament
The men's basketball tournament of UAAP Season 67 (2004–05 season) of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) was hosted by De La Salle University. ABS-CBN covered the games on Studio 23. Defending champions FEU Tamaraws finished first after the elimination round clinching the twice-to-beat advantage; a game behind was last season's finalist Ateneo Blue Eagles and archrival De La Salle Green Archers, and a further two games behind are the UE Red Warriors. La Salle defeated Ateneo on the playoff for the second seed, hence clinching the twice-to-beat advantage. In the semifinals, both top seeded teams eliminated their opponents. The heavily favored Tamaraws were dealt with a shock loss by La Salle in the first game of the finals, but they rebounded on the second game to extend the series into a deciding third game. UAAP Season 69 was the 2006–07 season of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines. Santiago "Junjun" S. Cabatu, Jr. (born June 25, 1984) is a Filipino former professional basketball player. LA Tenorio
Lewis Alfred Vasquez Tenorio (born July 9, 1984) is a Filipino professional basketball player for the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). He is also an assistant coach for the Letran Knights of the Philippines' NCAA. Battle Of The East
The "Battle of the East" is a college basketball rivalry between the University of the East Red Warriors and Far Eastern University Tamaraws. Others would refer to it as the Battle of Morayta, because of the street that runs between these universities. They have a combined 38 UAAP Basketball titles. History FEU left the National Collegiate Athletic Association in 1936 and later on to form the University Athletic Association of the Philippines along with University of Santo Tomas, National University and the University of the Philippines in 1938. UE was part of the first UAAP expansion with Adamson University in 1952. La Salle–UST Rivalry
The rivalry between the De La Salle University (DLSU) Green Archers and the University of Santo Tomas (UST) Growling Tigers is contested at the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP). Although the men's basketball rivalry had died down after the 1990s, it returned in 2013 as both schools again met in the UAAP basketball championship series. The rivalry had also been apparent in women's volleyball where the two teams are frequent finalists in the UAAP Volleyball Championship and the Shakey's V-League. The school rivalry between Ateneo de Manila University and De La Salle University began when both educational institutions participated in the National Collegiate Athletic Association of the Philippines (NCAA) and has carried over to the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) where both universities compete in currently. Before UAAP Season 84, the Ateneo men's varsity team was known as the Ateneo Blue Eagles, the women's varsity team as the Ateneo Lady Eagles, and the high school team as the Ateneo Blue Eaglets. In May 2022, Ateneo de Manila University decided to unify student-athletes and varsity teams under the "Blue Eagles" moniker, regardless of sport, gender, or age group. Goal difference, goal differential or points difference is a form of tiebreaker used to rank sport teams which finish on equal points in a league competition. Either "goal difference" or "points difference" is used, depending on whether matches are scored by goals (as in ice hockey and association football) or by points (as in rugby union and basketball).
