Uzbekistan competed at the 2020 Summer Paralympics in Tokyo, Japan, from 24 August to 5 September 2021. Medalists Competitors Source: Athletics 16 athlete in 22 events have been selected to compete for Uzbekistan at the 2020 Summer Paralympics including Doniyor Saliev who qualified for the men's long jump T12 event after winning the gold medal in the men's long jump T12 event at the 2019 World Para Athletics Championships. Nozimakhon Kayumova qualified for the women's javelin throw F13 event after winning the bronze medal at the 2019 World Para Athletics Championships. Safiya Burkhanova qualified for the women's shot put F12 event after winning the silver medal at the 2019 World Para Athletics Championships. Canoeing Uzbekistan has sent three athlete in Men's KL2, VL3 & Women's KL3 events. Flag Of Uzbekistan
The flag of Uzbekistan ( uz, Oʻzbekiston davlat bayrogʻi / Ўзбекистон Республикасининг давлат байроғи) consists of three horizontal azure, white and green bands separated by two thin red fimbriations, with a white crescent moon and twelve white stars at the canton. Adopted in 1991 to replace the flag of the Uzbek Soviet Socialist Republic (SSR), it has been the flag of the Republic of Uzbekistan since the country gained independence in that same year. The design of the present flag was partly inspired by the former one. Design Symbolism The azure colour on the flag is a symbol of blue sky and clear water. The 2019 World Para Athletics Championships was a Paralympic track and field event organised by the World Para Athletics subcommittee of the International Paralympic Committee. Doniyor Saliev is a visually impaired Uzbekistani Paralympic athlete competing in T12-classification events. He is a two-time bronze medalist at the Summer Paralympics. He is also a two-time gold medalist in the men's long jump T12 event at the World Para Athletics Championships. Career At the 2010 Asian Para Games held in Guangzhou, China, he won the bronze medal in the men's long jump F13 event. He represented Uzbekistan at the 2012 Summer Paralympics in London, United Kingdom and at the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He won the bronze medal in the men's long jump T12 event and the bronze medal in the men's 4 × 100 metres relay T11–13 event at the 2016 Summer Paralympics.
