Uva Cricket Team
The Uva cricket team is a Sri Lankan first class cricket team that represents Uva Province. The team was established in 2004 and only featured in the 2003-04 season of the Inter-Provincial First Class Tournament. The team was captained by Chaminda Vaas. In 2011 the team will be returning for the 2010–11 Inter-Provincial Limited Over Tournament. History 2003-04 Ten Sports Inter-Provincial Tournament The team played 4 matches overall but won only 1 against North Central Province (17 Jan 2003) but lost matches against Western Province (9 Jan 2003), Southern Province (24 Jan 2003) and Central Province (30 Jan 2003). 2010 The team returned to participate in the 2010–11 Inter-Provincial Limited Over Tournament after a six-year gap and finished bottom of the table with a similar record of winning 1 and losing 3. Chaminda Vaas
Warnakulasuriya Patabendige Ushantha Joseph Chaminda Vaas (born 27 January 1974) is a former Sri Lankan international cricketer, who played all forms of the game, and a former ODI captain who is often described as the greatest fast medium bowler Sri Lanka has produced, due to his highly accurate lines, lengths and capability of swinging the ball. Vaas currently holds the record for the best bowling figures in ODI history, and is the only bowler to take an 8-wicket haul in ODIs. During his time, Vaas often played a supporting role to Muttiah Muralitharan, Sri Lanka's off spinner and leading wicket taker. Kandurata Cricket Team
Kandurata cricket team was a Sri Lankan first class cricket team based in Kandy, that represented Central Province of Sri Lanka. Kandurata competed in all three provincial tournaments:the first class cricket competition known as the Inter-Provincial First Class Tournament, the List A cricket competition known as the Inter-Provincial Limited Over Tournament and the Twenty20 competition known as the Inter-Provincial Twenty20. Kandurata is the current champion of Inter-Provincial Limited Over Tournament, and has won title in 2010–11, 2009–10, and the joint title in 2007–08 series. Shaminda Eranga
Ranaweera Mudiyanselage Shaminda Eranga (born 23 June 1986), or Shaminda Eranga, is a professional Sri Lankan cricketer. He studied at St. Mary's College in Chilaw. International career Shaminda made his One Day International debut for Sri Lanka on 16 August 2011 at the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Stadium, Hambantota against Australia. Indika De Saram
Samantha Indika de Saram (born 2 September 1973) is a former Sri Lankan cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm off-break bowler who usually occupies the position of wicketkeeper. He is a past student of St. Thomas' College, Matara. Domestic career A powerful batsman, Saram kept wicket and scored a vast number of runs for his school team, becoming one of the most reliable batsmen in the country, including an innings in which he alone scored 304 runs in just 149 balls. Malinga Bandara
Herath Mudiyanselage Charitha Malinga Bandara (born 31 December 1979), commonly known as Malinga Bandara, is a former Sri Lankan cricketer, who played all formats. He is a right-handed batsman and also bowls legbreaks. He studied at the Kalutara Vidyalaya. Domestic career In Sri Lankan domestic cricket, Bandara played for a variety of sides. Leg Break
Leg spin is a type of spin bowling in cricket. A leg spinner bowls right-arm with a wrist spin action. The leg spinner's normal delivery causes the ball to spin from right to left (from the bowler's perspective) when the ball bounces on the pitch. Fast bowling (also referred to as pace bowling) is one of two main approaches to bowling in the sport of cricket, the other being spin bowling. Practitioners of pace bowling are usually known as ''fast'' bowlers, ''quicks'', or ''pacemen''. Hettige Don Rumesh Lahiru Thirimanne, known as Lahiru Thirimanne ( si, හෙට්ටිගේ දොන් රුමේෂ් ළහිරු තිරිමාන්න; born 9 August 1989) is a Sri Lankan international cricketer, and a former ODI captain. Mahela Lakmal Udawatte known as Mahela Udawatte ( si, මහේල උඩවත්ත) (born 19 July 1986) is a professional Sri Lankan International cricketer. He played as opening batsman in debut series in 2008, which shifted to become a middle order batsman for his comeback in 2017.
