Uttam Khobragade
Uttam Khobragade is a senior retired officer of the Indian Administrative Service and father of Indian Diplomat Devyani Khobragade. Early life Khobragade was born on 8 May 1951 in Gadchiroli, Maharashtra. Career Khobragade qualified to become an officer of the Indian Administrative Service of the 1984 batch. From 1 August 1986 to 1 December 1993 he served in the departments of Land Revenue Management and Rural Development. After that, he was Collector and District Magistrate of Mumbai Suburban District up to 1 July 1996. He subsequently worked in various departments such as Planning and Program Implementation, Environment and Forests, Social Justice and Empowerment, and Rural Development. Brihanmumbai Electric Supply And Transport
The Brihanmumbai Electricity Supply and Transport Undertaking (BEST) is a civic transport and electricity provider public body based in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. It was originally set up in 1873 as a tramway company called "Bombay Tramway Company Limited". The company set up a captive thermal power station at the Wadi bunder in November 1905 to generate electricity for its trams and positioned it to also supply electricity to the city and re-branded itself to "Bombay Electric Supply & Tramways (BEST)" Company. In 1926, BEST also became an operator of motor buses. In 1947, the BEST became an undertaking of the Municipal Corporation and rebranded itself to "Bombay Electric Supply & Transport (BEST)". The Maharashtra Housing Board (MHB) was established in 1948 and had a jurisdiction over the entire State of Maharashtra except for the Vidarbha region. This body undertook construction of residential buildings under various housing schemes for different sections of society.
