Utrecht Vaartsche Rijn Railway Station
Vaartsche Rijn is a railway station in the Dutch city of Utrecht. It is situated on the railway lines between Utrecht and Arnhem and between Utrecht and 's-Hertogenbosch. Construction started in September 2010 and after some delays was officially opened at 23 August 2016. The station was built as part of ProRail's Randstadspoor project to improve suburban rail travel. Six to eight thousand riders are expected to use the station each day. The station has 4 tracks with 2 island platforms, 3 underground pedestrian passages and space for 650 bicycles and 200 cars. The platforms can be reached by stairs or transparent lifts, and are sheltered with roofs made of wood. The station is built six meters above street level. The Amsterdam–Arnhem railway, also referred to as the Amsterdam–Elten railway or ''Rhijnspoorweg'' in Dutch language, Dutch (English: Rhine railway), is an important Rail transport, railway that connects Amsterdam in the Netherlands with Utrecht (city), Utrecht and Arnhem, and continues into Germany. The Utrecht–Boxtel railway is an important railway in the Netherlands running from Utrecht Centraal station to Boxtel station, passing through Geldermalsen station and 's-Hertogenbosch station. Utrecht Centraal, officially Station Utrecht Centraal (), is the transit hub that integrates three bicycle parkings, two bus stations, two tram stops and the central railway station for the city of Utrecht in the province of Utrecht, Netherlands. Both the railway station and the bus station are the largest and busiest in the Netherlands. The bicycle parking station on the east side is the largest in the world.
