The 2031 IHF World Men's Handball Championship, will be the 32nd event hosted by the International Handball Federation. It will take place in Denmark, Iceland and Norway in January 2031. Handball At The 2014 South American Games
The Handball Competitions at the 2014 South American Games took place at the Polideportivo Viña in Viña del Mar, Chile from March 7 to 16. There were two competitions, one each for men and women, each with five national teams competing. Brazil is the defending champion for the men's competition while Argentina is in the women's competitions. The top 3 teams in each tournament qualifies to compete at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto, Canada. Handball (also known as team handball, European handball, Olympic handball or indoor handball) is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outcourt players and a goalkeeper) pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the opposing team. A standard match consists of two periods of 30 minutes, and the team that scores more goals wins. Modern handball is played on a court of , with a goal in the middle of each end. The goals are surrounded by a zone where only the defending goalkeeper is allowed; goals must be scored by throwing the ball from outside the zone or while "diving" into it.
