Up At Ours
''Up at Ours'' is a Canadian television comedy-drama series, which aired in 1980 on CBC Television. The series starred Mary Walsh as Mrs. Bell, the owner of a boarding house in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, which served as a frame for an anthology of comedic and dramatic stories involving various temporary guests or permanent residents of the house. The cast also included Gordon Pinsent, Janis Spence, Ray Guy, Kevin Noble and Brian Downey. The series was created by Pinsent. Brian Downey (born 31 October 1944 in St. John's, Newfoundland) is a Canadian actor best known for his portrayal of Stanley Tweedle in the science-fiction television series ''Lexx''. Career Downey is a character actor who has appeared in various films and guest starring roles on TV, including '' Up at Ours'' and a recurring role on ''Millennium''. His first film role was in a 1986 Andy Jones film called ''The Adventure of Faustus Bidgood'', which features the entire cast of CODCO. Downey has enjoyed a long professional relationship with ''Lexx'' creator Paul Donovan, dating back at least to 1988, when Donovan cast Downey in the time travel adventure film ''Norman's Awesome Experience''. Ray Guy (22 April 1939 – 14 May 2013) was a Canadian journalist and humourist, best known for his satirical newspaper and magazine columns. He was born in Come By Chance, Newfoundland, to George Hynes Guy and Alice Louisa Adams, but was raised and schooled in Arnold's Cove, the community that was to provide fodder for many of his columns. Guy studied journalism at Toronto Metropolitan University, Ryerson Institute of Technology (now Toronto Metropolitan University).
