''The Untamed'' is a 1920 American silent Western film directed by Emmett J. Flynn and starring Tom Mix, Pauline Starke, and George Siegmann. It was based on a novel of the same name by Max Brand and was remade as a sound film '' Fair Warning'' in 1931. Plot As described in a film magazine, Whistling Dan (Mix), the adopted son of rancher Joe Cumberland (Barrows), has been raised since childhood with the latter aware of his instinct to fight like an animal and kill that which harms him. Joe has forbidden Dan from frequenting Morgan's Place, a gathering ground of local renegades and desperadoes. Untamed is a Rocky Mountain Construction hybrid steel-wood roller coaster at Walibi Holland, a theme park in the Netherlands. Untamed replaced Robin Hood, a wooden roller coaster that closed on 28 October 2018. History Robin Hood Robin Hood was a coaster designed by Stand Company and was built by Vekoma. The ride opened in 2000 and had a capacity of 815 people per hour, operating two trains carrying 24 people. Robin Hood closed on 28 October 2018, for a makeover from Rocky Mountain Construction. Untamed Construction for Untamed began in late October 2018. The track of Robin Hood was removed along with some parts of the wooden construction. Also, all previous theming elements were taken down. The new track was finished on 16 May 2019. Test rides started three weeks later on 3 June 2019. Untamed opened on 1 July 2019. Untamed is a steel Euro-Fighter roller coaster located at Canobie Lake Park in Salem, New Hampshire. Layout The ride is a Gerstlauer Euro-Fighter, 320+ model. The ride was installed by Ride Entertainment Group, who handles all of Gerstlauer's operations in the Western Hemisphere. A 90° vertical lift hill is followed by a , 97° beyond-vertical drop. After the drop the 8 person cars go through three inversions: a large vertical loop, a cutback and a heartline roll. The ride has a forest and wilderness theme with the supports for the ride made to look like white birch trees (the state tree of New Hampshire) and the track painted dark green. The coaster layout for Untamed is particularly close to two other Euro-Fighter (model 320+) roller coasters: Rage at Adventure Island and Falcon at Duinrell.
