''Unsolved'' (also titled ''Unsolved: The Murders of Tupac and the Notorious B.I.G.'') is an American true crime drama anthology television miniseries. The miniseries is based on the 1996 murder of Tupac Shakur and the 1997 murder of The Notorious B.I.G. (aka Biggie Smalls). It premiered February 27, 2018 on USA Network. The 10-episode miniseries chronicles the dual police investigations of Detective Greg Kading (Josh Duhamel) and Detective Russell Poole (Jimmi Simpson) into the controversial murders of two of the rap industry's most legendary players, Tupac (Marcc Rose) and Biggie (Wavyy Jonez). Russell Poole
Russell Wayne Poole (November 29, 1956 – August 19, 2015) was a Los Angeles Police Department detective most noted for investigating the murder of the Notorious B.I.G., a rapper also known as Biggie Smalls, birth name Christopher Wallace. Poole also investigated the killing of LAPD Officer Kevin Gaines by LAPD Officer Frank Lyga on March 18, 1997. After retiring in 1999, he formed a private detective agency. Orlando Anderson
Orlando Tive "Baby Lane" Anderson (August 13, 1974 – May 29, 1998) was the prime suspect in the murder of Tupac Shakur. Anderson belonged to the California-based gang known as the Southside Compton Crips. Detective Tim Brennan of the Compton Police Department filed an affidavit naming Anderson as a suspect. Anderson denied involvement in Shakur’s murder and was never charged. On May 29, 1998, at the age of 23, he was killed in a gang-related shootout. Duane Davis (gangster)
Duane Keith "Keefe D" Davis ( ; born June 14, 1963) is an American member of the California-based gang known as the South Side Compton Crips who is charged with first-degree murder in the 1996 murder of Tupac Shakur. Davis, a childhood friend of N.W.A. frontman Eazy-E, claims that he was in the vehicle with the perpetrator when Shakur was shot. Detective Tim Brennan from Compton, California, filed an affidavit naming Davis and his nephew Orlando Anderson as suspects. Anderson was killed in a gang-related shootout in 1998.
