The Faculty of Arts in Niš ( sr, Факултет уметности Универзитета у Нишу, Fakultet umetnosti Univerziteta u Nišu) is an independent department of the University of Niš in Niš, Serbia. The Faculty was established on 3 October 2002 by the Government of Serbia. History Department of Visual Arts and Music In 2000, the Department of Visual Arts and Music was created within the Faculty of Philosophy. Its original programs were in Visual Arts, Applied Arts, and Music. The Faculty was place into small quarters in the College of Music building The original faculty council contained seven members; its task was to set up the regular Faculty bodies and create policies for developing the faculty. The University of Niš ( sr, Универзитет у Нишу, Univerzitet u Nišu) is a public university in Serbia. It was founded in 1965 and consists of 13 faculties with 1,492 academic staff and around 20,500 students (as of 2018–19 school year). Suzana Kostić (born 31 December 1961) is a Serbian conductor, music educator and music scholar. Her performance specialties are choral music and large-scale works for solo voices, chorus, and orchestra. She is also known for the premiere performances of works by contemporary Balkan composers. Education She completed all her academic degrees at Faculty of Music, Ss. Cyril and Methodius University of Skopje.
