The University of Central Florida (UCF) is a public research university whose main campus is in unincorporated Orange County, Florida. The University of Central Florida College of Sciences is the largest academic college of the University of Central Florida located in Orlando, Florida, United States. The dean of the college is Michael Johnson, Ph.D. The College of Sciences was established in October 2005 after the division of the former College of Arts & Sciences into two separate colleges. Louis Frey Jr. (January 11, 1934 – October 14, 2019) was an American lawyer and politician who served as a Republican member of the United States House of Representatives from 1969 until 1979. He represented Florida's 5th congressional district from 1969 to 1973 and the 9th district from 1973 to 1979, until he ran unsuccessfully in 1978 for the Republican nomination for governor to succeed the term-limited Democrat Reubin Askew of Pensacola. Early life, education, and career Frey was born in Rutherford, New Jersey, the son of Mildred (Engel) and Louis Frey. He graduated in 1951 from Rutherford High School, and received a B.A. in 1955 from Colgate University in Hamilton, New York. The Institute for Simulation and Training (IST) is a research institute of the University of Central Florida located in Orlando, Florida, United States. Grace Bochenek, Ph.D. was appointed director of IST in early 2021. She was previously the director of the U.S. Army Tank Automotive Research, Development and Engineering Center (2006-12) and the chief technology officer of the U.S. Army Materiel Command, and served as acting secretary of energy for the U.S. Department of Energy (2017).
