University Of Belgrade School Of Medicine
The Belgrade Faculty of Medicine ( sr, Медицински факултет Универзитета у Београду/''Medicinski fakultet Univerziteta u Beogradu'') is a constituent institution of the University of Belgrade, which offers a wide range of academic courses in Serbian and English, including specialist practice within a network of hospitals, institutes and medical clinics. The School of Medicine includes 40 departments with over 200 professorships. History This school was established in 1920, when the first lecture was held by the anatomy professor Niko Miljanić. Since then, over 30000 have students graduated from this institution, including circa 850 international students. The studies last 12 semesters and are organized within the integral curriculum (no departments and study groups). Nevenka Tadić
Nevenka Tadić (; sr-cyr, Невенка Тадић, ; born 1926 in Bijeljina, , Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes) is a Serbian neuropsychiatrist most noted for her work in the psychotherapy of children. She is the mother of Boris Tadić, the former president of Serbia and current leader of the Social Democratic Party. Ali Shukriu ( Serbian: Али Шукрија, ''Ali Šukrija''; 12 September 1919 – 6 January 2005) was a political figure of Kosovo, during its period as an autonomous province of Yugoslavia. He served as the 2nd Chairmen of the Executive Council of SAP Kosovo from 1963 until May 1967, 2nd President of the Presidency of SAP Kosovo from August 1981 to 1982 and lastly as the 7th President of the Presidency of the Central Committee of the League of Communists of Yugoslavia from 26 June 1984 until 25 June 1985. Pasko Rakic ( hr, Paško Rakić, ) is a Yugoslav-born American neuroscientist, who presently works in the Yale School of Medicine Department of Neuroscience in New Haven, Connecticut. His main research interest is in the development and evolution of the human brain. He was the founder and served as Chairman of the Department of Neurobiology at Yale, and was founder and Director of the Kavli Institute for Neuroscience. He is best known for elucidating the mechanisms involved in development and evolution of the cerebral cortex. In 2008, Rakic shared the inaugural Kavli Prize in Neuroscience. Ljubisav Rakić (; 11 April 1931 – 14 October 2022) was a Serbian neurobiologist, professor and academic. Life and career Rakić was born in Sarajevo on 11 April 1931, in Bosnia and Herzegovina. His parents were teachers. He graduated from the Belgrade Medical School in 1956. Miodrag Pavlović (Serbian Cyrillic: Миодраг Павловић; ; 28 November 1928 – 17 August 2014) was a Serbian poet, physician writer, critic and academic. Pavlović was twice nominated for the Nobel Literature Prize. Biography He graduated from the University of Belgrade with a degree in medicine in year 1954. He studied foreign languages and wrote his first volume of poetry, 87 Poems. Slobodan Obradov (Serbian Cyrillic:Слободан Обрадов) (26 November 1918 – 17 July 2013) was a Serbian physician. In the course of his professional career he has developed the hematology specialization in former Yugoslavia and aided in world class research on the subject of blood related cancers. Dr. Okwesilieze Nwodo (Okwy) (born 28 July 1950 in Nsukka, Nigeria) is a Nigerian politician who was elected Governor of Enugu State in January 1992 during the Nigerian Third Republic. Later he became the national secretary, national chairman, and a senior politician in the People's Democratic Party (PDP). Biography Dr. Okwesilieze is a member of the Nwodo political dynasty. Miomir Mugoša (; born 23 July 1950) is a Montenegrin physician and politician. He has been mayor of Podgorica, the capital of Montenegro, from 2000 to 2014.
