''Units in the City'' is the debut and only studio album by American Hip hop music, hip hop recording artist Shawty Lo during his lifetime. It was released on February 26, 2008, by D4L Records, Asylum Records and Warner Bros. Records. The album features guest appearances from Phace Baity, Gucci Mane and G-Child, 40cal, Frontstreet and Braski with the Hip hop production, production, which was provided by Balis Beats, DJ Montay and Bankhead DJ Pooh, among others. Shawty Lo
Carlos Rico Walker (March 22, 1976 – September 21, 2016), better known as Shawty Lo, was an American rapper from Atlanta, Georgia. He initially came to prominence as a founding member of the Southern hip hop group D4L, and in 2000 founded D4L Records. The group reached national status in 2005 when their single "Laffy Taffy" topped the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 and went on to be certified platinum thrice by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). In 2007, Walker began pursuing a solo career with his debut single "Dey Know", which was included on his solo debut album ''Units in the City'', released in February 2008. On September 21, 2016, Walker died in a car crash. His second studio album, ''R.I.C.O.'', was released posthumously in March 2017. Gucci Mane
Radric Delantic Davis (born February 12, 1980), known professionally as Gucci Mane, is an American rapper and record executive. He helped pioneer the hip hop subgenre of trap music alongside fellow Atlanta-based rappers T.I. and Young Jeezy, particularly in the 2000s and 2010s. In 2005, Gucci Mane debuted with ''Trap House'', followed by his second album, '' Hard to Kill'' in 2006. His third studio album ''Back to the Trap House'' was released in 2007. Trap Music (hip Hop)
Trap is a subgenre of hip hop music that originated in the Southern United States during the 1990s. The genre gets its name from the Atlanta slang word "trap", a house used exclusively to sell drugs. Trap music uses synthesized drums and is characterized by complex hi-hat patterns, tuned kick drums with a long decay (originally from the Roland TR-808 drum machine), and lyrical content that often focuses on drug use and urban violence. It utilizes very few instruments and focuses almost exclusively on snare drums and double- or triple-timed hi-hats. Snap music (also known as ringtone rap or snap rap) is a subgenre of hip hop music derived from crunk that originated in southern United States in the 2000s, in Bankhead, West Atlanta, United States.Vibe Jun 2006, "Oh Snap!"
