United States Team Handball Federation
United States Team Handball Federation was the governing body for handball in the United States from 1959 until 2006. The successor USA Team Handball is funded in part by the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee in 2008. United States Team Handball Federation organized the participation of U.S. national teams in international competitions, such as the Handball at the Summer Olympics, Summer Olympics and the Handball at the Pan American Games, Pan American Games. Handball In The United States
Handball in the United States is a minor sport. The U.S. is represented in international competitions, such as the Summer Olympics and the Pan American Games, by the United States men's national handball team and the United States women's national handball team. The U.S. men's and women's teams have struggled in international competitions against nations where handball is more popular. It is governed by USA Team Handball, which is funded in part by the U.S. Olympic Committee. Previously, the governing body was the United States Team Handball Federation, but was revoked of its governing duties by the United States Olympic Committee. Thomas Rosandich
Thomas P. Rosandich (died 2020) was an American sports administrator and coach. Biography Rosandich career began in the early 1950s, with his involvement in football and track and field coaching, which earned him induction into the Helms Track and Field Hall of Fame. Among the athletes he coached were notable Olympic and world record holders such as Bob Mathias, Josh Culbreath, Al Cantello, and Bob Gutowski. In addition to his coaching roles, Rosandich served as a Sports Ambassador for the United States Department of State, where he was tasked with building international relations through sport in 43 nations. During his time in the Marine Corps, he led the national team of then-Malaya to international competitions and was later appointed as the National Track and Field coach for Indonesia. Handball (also known as team handball, European handball or Olympic handball) is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outcourt players and a goalkeeper) pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the other team. A standard match consists of two periods of 30 minutes, and the team that scores more goals wins. Modern handball is played on a court of , with a goal in the middle of each end.
