The United States Men's Under-19 National Floorball Team is the men's under-19 national floorball team of the United States, and a member of the International Floorball Federation The International Floorball Federation (IFF) is the worldwide governing body for the sport of floorball. Floorball
Floorball is a type of floor hockey with five players and a goalkeeper in each team. Men and women play indoors with sticks and a plastic ball with holes. Matches are played in three twenty-minute periods. The sport of bandy also played a role in the game's development. The game was invented in Sweden in the late 1960s. The basic rules were established in 1979 when the first floorball club in the world, Sala IBK, from Sala, was founded in Sweden. Official rules for matches were first written down in 1981. The sport is organized internationally by the International Floorball Federation (IFF). As of 2019, there were about 377,000 registered floorball players worldwide, up from around 300,000 in 2014. 2019 Men's Under-19 World Floorball Championships B-Division
The 2019 Men's U-19 World Floorball Championships B-Division took place in conjunction with the tenth world championships in men's under-19 floorball. The tournament took place from May 8–12, 2019 in Halifax, Canada, and was the first Men's U-19 WFC played outside of Europe. Qualification 26 teams registered for the tenth men's under-19 world championships.. The top eight teams from the 2017 U-19 WFC automatically qualified as part of the A-Division. Poland was relegated from the A-Division, Canada qualified automatically as the host, and the United States thus qualified automatically with the spot from the Americas, with the remainder of the teams competing to qualify for the five remaining spots in the B-Division. The United States Floorball Association (USFbA) is the highest governing body for floorball in the United States of America. The USFbA is a self-governed organization, recognized by both state and federal governments. It is based in Incline Village, NV. Organization The USFbA is divided into 14 regional branches. Each regional branch has a director who is in charge of floorball for that region. The USFbA has been a member of the International Floorball Federation (IFF) since 1993.
