USA Team Handball
USA Team Handball is the governing body for handball in the United States. USA Team Handball is funded in part by the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee. Previously, the governing body was the United States Team Handball Federation. USA Team Handball is led by an 9-person Board of Directors. The president is Michael J. Wall. USA Team Handball organizes the participation of U.S. national teams in international competitions, such as the Summer Olympics and the Pan American Games. The United States men's national handball team and the United States women's national handball team have struggled in international competitions against nations where handball is more popular. The 1938 World Men's Handball Championship was the first ever handball World Championship. It was played in Germany on 5 and 6 February 1938. Handball (also known as team handball, European handball or Olympic handball) is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outcourt players and a goalkeeper) pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the other team. Handball At The 2020 Summer Olympics – Men's Tournament
The men's handball tournament at the 2020 Summer Olympics was the 14th edition of the handball event for men at the Summer Olympic Games. It was held from 24 July to 7 August 2021. All games were played at the Yoyogi National Gymnasium in Tokyo, Japan. It was originally scheduled to be held in 2020, but on 24 March 2020, the Olympics were postponed to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Because of this pandemic, the games were played behind closed doors. The final was a rematch of the previous between Denmark and France. After Denmark won 28–26 in the 2016 final, France got the upper hand with a 25–23 win this time. Spain won the bronze medal after winning against Egypt. The men's handball tournament at the 2012 Olympic Games in London was held from 28 July to 12 August at the Olympic Park. The group stage matches were held at the Copper Box and the knockout rounds took place at the larger Basketball Arena. Twelve nations were represented in the tournament.
