United Arab Emirates Men's National Junior Ice Hockey Team
The United Arab Emirates men's national junior ice hockey team is the men's national under-20 ice hockey team of the United Arab Emirates. The team is controlled by the UAE Ice Sports Federation, a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). Since debuting in 2013 the United Arab Emirates have competed in a series of exhibition games and competed in the 2018 IIHF U20 Challenge Cup of Asia where they finished third. History The United Arab Emirates men's national junior ice hockey team played its first game in 2013 during the 2013 IIHF World U20 Championship Division III tournament in Sofia, Bulgaria. Prior to the start of the tournament the United Arab Emirates were disqualified and all of their games were declared forfeit for failing to register the minimum of 15 skaters and two goaltenders. The team was allowed to play exhibition games during the tournament, however the results of the games did not count towards the standings with the scores being officially recor ...

The emblem of the United Arab Emirates ( ar, شعار الإمارات العربية المتحدة) was officially adopted on 9 December 1973 (2 years after independence in 1971); it was later modified in 2008. It is similar to the coats of arms and emblems of other Arab states. It consists of a golden falcon (Hawk of Quraish) with a disk in the middle, which shows the UAE flag and seven stars representing the seven Emirates of the federation. The falcon has 7 tail feathers also representing the 7 Emirates. Ice hockey is a minor sport that is gaining popularity in United Arab Emirates. The premier ice hockey league in the UAE is the Emirates Ice Hockey League (EHL), which began in 2009. The U.A.E. Ice Hockey Association is one of the few sports associations recognized by the United Arab Emirates government. In 2018, Vladimir Burdun was appointed as the new president of the EHL. His role was to strengthen the UAE ice hockey team and attract more business opportunities. In 2019, Burdun announced the goal of entering a team into the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL), which formerly involved teams from Belarus, China, Finland, Latvia, Kazakhstan, and Russia, by 2021. The 2019 IIHF U20 Challenge Cup of Asia was an international men's under-20 ice hockey tournament run by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). The tournament took place between 5 December and 8 December 2018 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and was the fifth edition held since its formation in 2012 under the IIHF Challenge Cup of Asia series of tournaments. Malaysia won the tournament after finishing first in the standings. Kyrgyzstan finished in second place and the Philippines finished third. The 2013 World Junior Ice Hockey Championship Division III was an international ice hockey tournament organized by the International Ice Hockey Federation. It was played in Sofia, Bulgaria, between 14 and 20 January 2013. The Division III represents the sixth tier of the 2013 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships. 2013 IIHF World U20 Championship
The 2013 IIHF World U20 Championship (commonly known as the 2013 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships) was the 37th edition of the Ice Hockey World Junior Championship (WJC). It was hosted in Ufa, Russia. It began on December 26, 2012, and ended with the gold medal game played on January 5, 2013. The United States defeated defending-champion Sweden 3–1 to win their third title, their first one since 2010. American goalie John Gibson was named MVP of the tournament. Russia defeated Canada 6–5 in overtime to win the bronze medal, sending the Canadians home without a medal for the first time since 1998. The Philippine men's national under-20 ice hockey team is the national under-20 ice hockey team of the Philippines. The team is controlled by the Federation of Ice Hockey League (FIHL), an associate member of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). The team have not entered in any IIHF World U20 Championship.
