The Allgemeine Bodencreditanstalt or Boden-Credit-Anstalt (, french: Crédit foncier autrichien, also known as Bodencredit or simply "Boden") was an Austrian bank based in Vienna, created in 1863 and absorbed in 1929 by its main competitor the Creditanstalt following its 1927 acquisition of two smaller troubled banks, Verkehrsbank and Unionbank. The Union Bank was a bank founded in the year 1828 in British India by Prince Dwarkanath Tagore. The bank was the fourteenth oldest bank in India. History Founding In 19th century India, Prince Dwarkanath Tagore owned his own trading firm Carr, Tagore and Company. Prince Dwarkanath Tagore desired to separate the financial activities of his firm into a separate banking company. As a result of this, the Union Bank was founded in the year 1828. The Union Bank was formed by the merger of two other banks: The Commercial Bank and The Calcutta Bank. Management Prince Dwarkanath Tagore was the very first Indian to become a director of an Indian bank. All of the previous Indian banks had European directors and founders. The Union Banking Corporation (UBC) was a banking corporation in the US. Founding member and one of its seven directors was Prescott Bush. The banks assets were seized by the United States government on October 20, 1942, during World War II under the U.S. Trading with the Enemy Act and Executive Order No. 9095. Union Banks (Pagkakaisa Banks and Reefs) is a large drowned atoll in the center of Dangerous Ground in the Spratly Islands in South China Sea, west of the Philippine coast, containing islands and reefs whose ownership remains disputed and controversial. The closest atoll is Tizard Bank, due north of Union Banks. There are only two natural islands on the rim of the reef, Sin Cowe Island and Sin Cowe East Island.
