''Under the Knife'' is a compilation EP by the American metalcore band Hatebreed released in 1996 by Smorgasbord Records. It consists of the band's first 7 inch release, also titled ''Under The Knife'', as well as three additional demo tracks. It was re-released several times, in 1998 by Smorgasbord Records, in 2000 by both Smorgasbord Records and Victory Records and in 2006 by Cortex Records. The 7" vinyl only has the four first tracks, but the CD has all 7 tracks. Hatebreed is an American hardcore band from Bridgeport, Connecticut, formed in 1994. The band released its debut album '' Satisfaction is the Death of Desire'' in 1997, which gave the band a cult following. The band signed to Universal Records and released ''Perseverance'' in 2002, which hit the ''Billboard'' 200. Combining elements of hardcore and heavy metal, the band is often described as a metalcore, hardcore punk, and beatdown hardcore band. They have played a major role in the Connecticut hardcore scene. History Hatebreed was formed in 1994 in Bridgeport, Connecticut. They began by recording a three song demo and selling it to locals. Those three songs would eventually be released on a split 7" with New York's Neglect in 1995. ''Perseverance'' is the second studio album by American metalcore band Hatebreed. It was released in 2002 by Universal Records. "I Will Be Heard" is featured in the film '' XXX'' and on its soundtrack. "Below the Bottom" appeared in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre soundtrack. It is the band's last album to feature Lou Richards on guitar before his departure in 2002 and suicide in 2006. The guitar is a fretted musical instrument that typically has six strings. Jamey Jasta
James Shanahan (born August 7, 1977), known professionally as Jamey Jasta, is an American vocalist, best known as the lead singer of metalcore band Hatebreed and sludge metal band Kingdom of Sorrow. Jasta also fronts metalcore band Icepick. Prior to Hatebreed, he fronted the hardcore band Jasta 14. Jasta owns Stillborn Records, a hardcore- and metal-based record label from West Haven, Connecticut, and a "rock-themed apparel" line called Hatewear. In 2011, Jasta released a solo album titled ''Jasta'', collaborating with Randy Blythe and Mark Morton ( Lamb of God), Zakk Wylde, Philip Labonte ( All That Remains), and Tim Lambesis (As I Lay Dying). ''Hatebreed'' is the fifth studio album by American metalcore band Hatebreed. It was released on September 29, 2009. Frontman Jamey Jasta had this to say regarding the new album: "This is our fifth studio album and it's a monster! We've survived some pretty rough times and the music shows it. There was no reason to change the recipe that our fans know and love but we added a few brutal new ingredients and we're more than amped on the results. Violence is a given!" ''Supremacy'' is the fourth studio album by American metalcore band Hatebreed. It is their first and only release with Roadrunner Records. The album was released on August 29, 2006. Hardcore Punk
Hardcore punk (also known as simply hardcore) is a punk rock music genre and subculture that originated in the late 1970s. It is generally faster, harder, and more aggressive than other forms of punk rock.
