Unconditional Love (Peabo Bryson Album)
''Unconditional Love'' is the eighteenth studio album by American singer Peabo Bryson. It was released in the United States by Private Music, a division of the Windham Hill Group, on April 27, 1999. Bryson, along with Regina Troupe, produced the majority of the album himself, but also worked with Masaru Nishiyama and frequent collaborator Robbie Buchanan on several tracks. It peaked at no. 75 on the US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. Critical reception Allmusic editor Andrew Hamilton found that Bryson "still exudes a highbrow persona on this late-'90s CD, excelling on "Did You Ever Know," " Ain't Nobody" (the old Rufus song), the umpteenth rendition of Leon Russell's "A Song for You," "The Gift" (a duet with Roberta Flack), and "Light the World," with Deborah Gibson. Peabo Bryson
Robert Peapo "Peabo" Bryson (born April 13, 1951) is an American singer and songwriter. He is known for singing soul ballads (often as a duet with female singers) including the 1983 hit "Tonight, I Celebrate My Love" with Roberta Flack. Bryson has contributed to two Disney animated feature soundtracks. Bryson is a winner of two Grammy Awards. Early years and career Born Robert Peapo Bryson in Greenville, South Carolina, Peabo Bryson spent much of his childhood on his grandfather's farm in Mauldin, South Carolina. His love for music stemmed from his mother, who often took the family to concerts of well-known African-American artists at the time. Thomas Stevenson Douglas (born January 27, 1953) is an American country music songwriter. He has written Top 10 ''Billboard'' Country hits for John Michael Montgomery, Martina McBride, Tim McGraw, Collin Raye, Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, and others. Early life Tom Douglas was born in Atlanta, where he grew up with musical influence from his father, who sold steel by day and played the piano and ukulele at night. Douglas describes, “There was always music in the house” and describes his father as being an artist at heart. Hyde Street Studios
Hyde Street Studios is an American music recording facility in San Francisco, California. Located at 245 Hyde Street and previously occupied by Wally Heider Studios, it became Hyde Street Studios in 1980 when it was taken over by local songwriter, musician, and independent record producer Michael Ward with his two partners Tom Sharples and former Tewkesbury Sound studio owner Dan Alexander, who initially had a 50 percent share in the business. Ward assumed full ownership in 1985. Alexander initially outfitted Hyde Street Studios with equipment from the defunct Tewksbury Sound, which Ward and Sharples had helped to build, and began acquiring older model microphones and other pieces of audio equipment not popular at the time but that have since become considered classic. Scott Erickson (born 1967) is an American Los Angeles-based record producer, composer and arranger. Originally from Seattle, Washington, Erickson has been working in the music scene in Los Angeles since his graduation from Berklee College of Music in 1992. After stints working as an assistant for The Manhattan Transfer and Al Teller (Chairman and CEO, MCA Music Entertainment Group), he landed a job working with Robbie Buchanan. From 1997 until 2003, Erickson learned the craft of making records and, in 2003, left Buchanan to begin his production career on his own. Boulevard (Canadian Band)
Boulevard is a Canadian band (originally abbreviated Blvd) formed in 1983 in Calgary by Mark Holden (saxophone/vocals). After releasing two studio albums, they disbanded in 1991. They reunited 23 years later, in 2014, and played at Firefest in Nottingham, England. They released their third studio album in September 2017. The Keane Brothers was an American pop music duo from 1976–82, composed of pre-teens, Tom Keane on piano and John Keane on drums. Rhodes Piano
The Rhodes piano (also known as the Fender Rhodes piano) is an electric piano invented by Harold Rhodes, which became popular in the 1970s. Like a conventional piano, the Rhodes generates sound with keys and hammers, but instead of strings, the hammers strike thin metal tines, which vibrate next to an electromagnetic pickup. The signal is then sent through a cable to an external keyboard amplifier and speaker. The instrument evolved from Rhodes's attempt to manufacture pianos while teaching recovering soldiers during World War II. Development continued after the war and into the following decade. In 1959, Fender began marketing the Piano Bass, a cut-down version; the full-size instrument did not appear until after Fender's sale to CBS in 1965.
