''Uncle's'' (Swedish: ''Stampen'') is a 1955 Swedish comedy film directed by and starring Nils Poppe, Ann-Marie Gyllenspetz and Holger Löwenadler.Qvist & Von Bagh p.126 It was shot at the Råsunda Studios in Stockholm. The film's sets were designed by the art director P.A. Lundgren. Synopsis Patrik works in a pawnshop and Viveka is a maid. They meet and are attracted to each other, but both are embarrassed about their real jobs and pretend otherwise. Soon this leads to misunderstandings and further complications ensue. Nils Poppe
Nils Poppe (31 May 1908 – 28 June 2000) was a Swedish actor, comedian, director, screenwriter and theatre manager. He is internationally most famous for his part in Ingmar Bergman's ''The Seventh Seal'', but in Sweden he was much loved and participated in over 50 films on cinema and TV. Biography Background Poppe's mother was unmarried and forced to place him with a Danish foster mother in Malmö, Sweden, who put him on a diet of bread dipped in beer. After two years he was rescued from her by Anders and Amanda Jönsson at Möllevången in Malmö, who became his foster parents. His theatrical dreams began to blossom early, and at school he showed off his comic talent. On 1 August 1926, Poppe enlisted in the navy and trained as a torpedoman at the 1st Professional Company in Karlskrona as No. 427 Jönsson. Knut Gunnar Johanson (13 November 1909 – 24 May 1986) was a Swedish actor known for his frequent work with writer and director Ingmar Bergman. Biography Björnstrand was born Knut Gunnar Johanson in Stockholm as son of actor Oscar Johanson and Ella Mauléon. After his education at the Royal Dramatic Theatre's acting school, he made several appearances in theatre, film and radio. Björnstrand's first collaboration with Ingmar Bergman was the 1941 theatre production of August Strindberg's ''The Ghost Sonata''. His first major film role was in Hampe Faustman's ''Natt i hamn'' in 1943. Oscar Rosander
Oscar Rosander (25 July 1901 – 7 May 1971) was a Swedish film editor with more than 100 feature film credits. He was born in Eksjö, Sweden in 1901. He studied modern languages at Uppsala University and later worked with film dubbing and editing for the Swedish film studio Svensk Filmindustri. Rosander had an extended, notable collaboration on twelve films with the director Ingmar Bergman, including Bergman's debut film ''Crisis'' (1946) as well as ''Smiles of a Summer Night'' (1955), '' Wild Strawberries'' (1957), '' The Magician'' (1958), and ''The Virgin Spring'' (1960). In his autobiography, Bergman credits Rosander with teaching him the possibilities of editing and of "editing behind the camera". He died at Las Palmas, Canary Islands, in 1971. Gunnar Fischer (18 November 1910 – 11 June 2011) was a Swedish cinematographer who worked with director Ingmar Bergman on several of the director's best-known films, including ''Smiles of a Summer Night'' (1955) and ''The Seventh Seal'' (1957). In addition to his career as cinematographer, Gunnar Fischer directed short films, wrote screenplays (1933–41) and published books for children. Early life Gunnar Fischer was born in Ljungby, Sweden on 18 November 1910, the son of Greta Lokrantz and Gunnar Fischer. His family later moved to Ronneby, where Fischer spent most of his childhood. After the death of his father in 1931, the family moved to Stockholm. Education Fischer studied painting for Otte Sköld before electing to join the Swedish Navy for 3 years.
