Unbelievable (Wang Leehom Album)
''Unbelievable'' () is the 9th album of the Taiwanese R&B artist and composer, Leehom Wang, and was released on 15 October 2003. The album was awarded one of the ''Top 10 Selling Mandarin Albums of the Year'' at the 2004 IFPI Hong Kong Album Sales Awards, presented by the Hong Kong branch of IFPI. Leehom Wang
Wang Leehom (; born May 17, 1976), sometimes credited as Leehom Wang, is an American singer-songwriter, actor, producer, and film director. Formally trained at Eastman School of Music, Williams College and Berklee College of Music, his music is known for fusing hip-hop and R&B, with traditional Chinese music (Beijing opera, Kunqu, Chinese orchestra, and tribal music from Tibet, Yunan, and Mongolia). Since his 1995 debut, Wang has released 25 albums, that have sold over 60 million copies. He is a four-time winner and 19-time nominee of the Golden Melody Awards, the "Grammys" of Chinese music. His sold-out concert at the 90,000 seat Beijing Bird's Nest on April 14, 2012 was the first solo pop concert to be held at the iconic venue. Mandopop
Mandopop or Mandapop refers to Standard Chinese, Mandarin popular music. The genre has its origin in the jazz-influenced popular music of 1930s Shanghai known as Shidaiqu; with later influences coming from Japanese enka, Hong Kong's Cantopop, Taiwan's Hokkien pop, and in particular the School campus song, Campus Song folk movement of the 1970s. 'Mandopop' may be used as a general term to describe popular songs performed in Mandarin. Though Mandopop predates Cantopop, the English term was coined around 1980 after "Cantopop" became a popular term for describing popular songs in Cantonese. ''Hear My Voice'' is the second full-length Japanese album (and last, to date) of Taiwanese American R&B artist and composer, Leehom Wang (ワン・リーホン), and was released on July 28, 2004 by Sony Music Japan International Inc. The album failed to be commercially successful, peaking at No.132 on the Japanese Oricon Weekly Charts staying on the charts for just one week. About the album This album is a compilation of Lee-Hom's past successful Mandarin songs from 1996–2003 but sung in the Japanese language. The album contains twelve songs, all of which are original songs from his Chinese albums ''If You Heard My Song'' (如果你聽見我的歌) to '' Unbelievable'' (不可思議). Most of those songs were changed significantly from their original versions and made specifically for this album. Taiwanese People
Taiwanese people may be generally considered the people of Taiwan who share a common culture, ancestry and speak Taiwanese Mandarin, Hokkien, Hakka or indigenous Taiwanese languages as a mother tongue. Golden Melody Awards
The Golden Melody Awards (), commonly abbreviated as GMA, is an honor awarded by Taiwan's Ministry of Culture to recognize outstanding achievement in the Mandarin, Taiwanese Hokkien, Hakka, and Formosan-languages popular and traditional music industry. The GMAs are awarded on the basis of votes by members of jury, and it has constantly been recognized as the equivalent to the Grammy Awards in Chinese-speaking world. It shares recognition of the music industry as that of the other performance awards such as the Golden Bell Awards (television) and the Golden Horse Awards (motion pictures).
