"Un bacio a mezzanotte" (lit. "A Midnight Kiss" or "A Kiss At Midnight") is a 1952 Italian song composed by Gorni Kramer (music) and Garinei & Giovannini (lyrics). Originally part of the revue ''Gran baraonda'' (Great chaos), starring Wanda Osiris and Alberto Sordi, it was popularized by the vocal group Quartetto Cetra, as to become a classic of Italian music. Gorni Kramer
Gorni Kramer (22 July 1913 – 26 October 1995) was an Italian songwriter, musician and band leader. Biography He was born Francesco Kramer Gorni at Rivarolo Mantovano (Lombardy). Despite the exotic sound of Gorni Kramer in the Italian language, which led part of his audience to believe he was a foreigner or had adopted a fancy pseudonym, it was his real name. His family name was Gorni, and Kramer his middle name, after the American cyclist Frank Kramer, who won the road race at the 1912 World Championships and made a strong impression on Gorni's father. Kramer learned music at a very young age, thanks to his father, a musician. The first instrument he learned how to play was the accordion, with which he performed as a child in his father's band. ''Dear Jack'' is a 2009 American documentary film starring Andrew McMahon, the vocalist, pianist and primary songwriter for the bands Something Corporate and Jack's Mannequin. The documentary chronicles McMahon on a rollercoaster year, through the highs of recording and releasing a solo album and the lows of being diagnosed with leukemia and breaking up with his girlfriend. Synopsis On May 27, 2005, McMahon was forced to cancel all of his upcoming concerts after a medical examination in connection with a relentless case of laryngitis forced him into being admitted into a hospital in New York City. The Quartetto Italiano ( en, Italian Quartet) was a string quartet founded in Reggio Emilia in 1945. They made their debut in 1945 in Carpi when all four players were still in their early 20s. They were originally named Nuovo Quartetto Italiano before dropping the "Nuovo" tag in 1951.
