''Uma'' is a 2013 Nepali drama film directed by Tsering Rhitar Sherpa. It stars Reecha Sharma, Saugat Malla, Mithila Sharma in the lead roles, alongside Dayahang Rai and Nischal Basnet. The film is about the Nepalese Civil War. Synopsis Milan (Saugat Malla) is a police officer in the early 2000s, during the Nepalese Civil War, while Uma (Reecha Sharma), his sister, eventually joins the Maoist movement. When Milan learns about her involvement with the Maoist, the story takes a turning point. Tsering Rhitar Sherpa
Tsering Rhitar Sherpa (born 1968) is a Nepalese filmmaker, screenwriter, and film producer. His first film, '' Mukundo: Mask of Desire'', was Nepal's official entry for Oscars. Early life and education Sherpa was born in Nepal "to a Nepalese Sherpa father and a Tibetan origin mother." After completing his Bachelor's degree at Delhi University, he studied filmmaking at Jamia Millia Islamia in Delhi from 1992 to 1993. Reecha Sharma
Reecha Sharma ( ne, ऋचा शर्मा; also spelled Richa), is a Nepalese film actress, model, and video jockey. She was one of the ten semi-finalists of Miss Nepal 2007 pageant, and has been popular for her acting in music videos and ramps. She made her acting debut in the Nepali film ''First Love'' (2010). The Nepalese Civil War was a protracted armed conflict that took place in the former Kingdom of Nepal from 1996 to 2006. It saw fighting between the Nepalese royal government and the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) throughout the country.
