Ulrik Fredrik Malt
Ulrik Fredrik Malt (born 1946) is a Norwegian psychiatrist. He was a consultant psychiatrist at Oslo University Hospital, Rikshospitalet, and was Director of the Department of Neuropsychiatry and Psychosomatic Medicine from 1987 to 2013. Since 2014 he is a senior consultant, Department of Research and Education, Division of Surgery and Clinical Neuroscience, Oslo University Hospital. Holding a position of Professor II at the University of Oslo since 1988, in 2016 he became professor emeritus. He took his examen artium in 1965 and studied medicine at the universities of Munster, Germany and Oslo, Norway, graduating as cand.med. in 1973. He became a specialist in psychiatry in 1987 and got his dr.med. degree also in 1987. He has been editor and author of several textbooks of psychiatry (in Norwegian) and has authored chapters in international textbooks of psychiatry. Oslo University Hospital, Rikshospitalet is one of the four main campuses of Oslo University Hospital in Oslo, Norway. It was an independent hospital, ''Rigshospitalet'', later spelled ''Rikshospitalet'' ("The National Hospital"), from 1826 to 2009, when it merged with other university hospitals in Oslo. It is a highly specialized university hospital with special assignments in research and the development of new methods of treatment. Rikshospitalet is a part of Southern and Eastern Norway Regional Health Authority, and is affiliated with the University of Oslo. Paranoia
Paranoia is an instinct or thought process that is believed to be heavily influenced by anxiety or fear, often to the point of delusion and irrationality. Paranoid thinking typically includes persecutory beliefs, or beliefs of conspiracy concerning a perceived threat towards oneself (i.e. ''"Everyone is out to get me"''). Paranoia is distinct from phobias, which also involve irrational fear, but usually no blame. Making false accusations and the general distrust of other people also frequently accompany paranoia. Tourette Syndrome
Tourette syndrome or Tourette's syndrome (abbreviated as TS or Tourette's) is a common neurodevelopmental disorder that begins in childhood or adolescence. It is characterized by multiple movement (motor) tics and at least one vocal (phonic) tic. Common tics are blinking, coughing, throat clearing, sniffing, and facial movements. These are typically preceded by an unwanted urge or sensation in the affected muscles known as a premonitory urge, can sometimes be suppressed temporarily, and characteristically change in location, strength, and frequency. Asperger syndrome (AS), also known as Asperger's, is a former neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by significant difficulties in Interpersonal relationship, social interaction and nonverbal communication, along with restricted and repetitive patterns of behaviour and interests.
