São Gonçalo () is a municipality located in the Brazilian state of Rio de Janeiro. It is on northeastern Guanabara Bay in the Rio de Janeiro Metropolitan Area. It is the 16th most populous city in Brazil. Location The population of São Gonçalo was 1,091,737 in 2020, and its area is .
