Ukrainian Recognition Of The Chechen Republic Of Ichkeria
The resolution on recognition of the state sovereignty of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria is a bill proposed by Oleksiy Honcharenko and Musa Mahomedov in which the Verkhovna Rada, the Ukrainian parliament, will vote on the recognition of Chechnya's independence, in response to Russia's recognition of the Luhansk People's Republic and the Donetsk People's Republic. On November 9, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine also registered a draft resolution on the recognition of state sovereignty and independence of Tatarstan. History It was received by the Verkhovna Rada on 11 July and handed over to the leadership on the same day. It was sent to the committee for consideration on the 13 July and was provided for reference on 14 July. Musa Serhoyevych Mahomedov ( uk, Муса Сергоєвич Магомедов; born 7 April 1970) is a North Caucasian-born Ukrainian entrepreneur and politician currently serving as a People's Deputy of Ukraine from , including the cities of Avdiivka and Yasynuvata and parts of the city of Donetsk, since 2019. He was previously director of the Avdiivka Coke Plant from 2012 to 2019, managing the plant during the height of the War in Donbas. The Chechen Republic of Ichkeria (; ce, Нохчийн Республик Ичкери, Nóxçiyn Respublik Içkeri; russian: Чеченская Республика Ичкерия; abbreviated as "ChRI" or "CRI") was a ''de facto'' state that controlled most of the former Checheno-Ingush ASSR.
