Ukraine In The Eurovision Song Contest 2008
Ukraine participated in Eurovision Song Contest 2008 with the song "Shady Lady (Ani Lorak song), Shady Lady" written by Karen Kavaleryan, Philipp Kirkorov, Philip Kirkorov and Dimitris Kontopoulos. The song was performed by Ani Lorak, who was internally selected in December 2007 by the Ukrainian broadcaster National Television Company of Ukraine (NTU) to represent Ukraine at the 2008 contest in Belgrade, Serbia. Her song was selected through a national final held on 23 February 2008. Five songs competed in the national selection and "Shady Lady" was selected as the winning song following the combination of votes from a four-member jury panel and a public televote. Ukraine participated the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 with the song "Razom nas bahato" written by Roman Kalyn, Roman Kostyuk and Mikola Kulinich. The song was performed by the duo GreenJolly. In addition to participating in the contest, the Ukrainian broadcaster National Television Company of Ukraine (NTU) also hosted the Eurovision Song Contest after winning the competition in 2004 with the song "Wild Dances" performed by Ruslana. NTU organised a national final in order to select the Ukrainian entry for the 2005 contest in Kyiv. Seventy-five entries competed in the national selection which consisted of sixteen shows: fifteen semi-finals and a final. Belarus participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 with the song "Hasta la vista" written by Eleonora Melnik and Taras Demchuk. The song was performed by Ruslan Alekhno. The Belarusian entry for the 2008 contest in Belgrade, Serbia was selected through the national final ''Eurofest 2008'', organised by the Belarusian broadcaster National State Television and Radio Company of the Republic of Belarus (BTRC). The national final was a televised production which consisted of a semi-final and a final held on 21 December 2007 and 21 January 2008, respectively. Samir Javadzadeh ( az, Samir Cavadzadə pron. ; born 16 April 1980, Baku, Azerbaijan) is an Azerbaijani pop singer. He was selected as the Azerbaijani representative, along with Elnur Hüseynov, to perform at the Eurovision Song Contest 2008. They performed " Day After Day" finishing 8th overall. Career Samir Javadzadeh graduated from university with a degree in business in 2002. In 2003, he finished five-year courses in music, specializing in mugham. After serving in the army for a year, he became a member of the pop band ''Sheron'' for the next three years and eventually started pursuing solo career. Originally, Samir Javadzadeh was not named among those who competed to represent Azerbaijan at Eurovision. Elnur Hüseynov (born 3 March 1987) is an Azerbaijani singer. He was Azerbaijan's representative to perform " Day After Day" at the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 alongside Samir Javadzadeh as duo Elnur and Samir. In 2015, he won the fourth season of '' The Voice of Turkey'' and represented Azerbaijan in the 60th Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Hour of the Wolf". Ukraine In The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2007
Ukraine has participated in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest since 2006. Ukrainian public broadcaster UA:PBC, has been responsible for the participation. Ukraine won the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2012 with the song " Nebo" performed by Anastasiya Petryk. Her sister, Viktoria Petryk, reached 2nd place at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2008 with "Matrosy". Ukraine hosted the at the Palace of Sports in Kyiv on 21 November 2009. On 30 November 2013, Ukraine once again hosted the competition, this time at Palace "Ukraine" in Kyiv. Kyiv is the first city to host the contest twice, while Ukraine was then the second country after the to host the competition twice. Timur Valeriyovych Miroshnychenko ( Ukrainian: Тімур Валерійович Мірошниченко) (born 9 March 1986) is a Ukrainian TV presenter for the channel UA:PBC.
