Udea Decrepitalis
''Udea decrepitalis'' is a moth of the family Crambidae described by Gottlieb August Wilhelm Herrich-Schäffer in 1848. It is found in most of Europe (except Iceland, Ireland, the Iberian Peninsula, the Benelux, Denmark, Greece, Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary and Ukraine), east into Russia. The wingspan is 23–27 mm. Gottlieb August Wilhelm Herrich-Schäffer
Gottlieb August Wilhelm Herrich-Schäffer (17 December 1799 – 14 April 1874) was a German entomologist and physician. He was born, and died, in Regensburg. Herrich-Schäffer studied and collected particularly butterflies and moths (Lepidoptera). He was chairman of the Regensburg Botanical Society () from 1861 to 1871, and was awarded an honorary citizenship of Regensburg in 1871. He wrote ''Systematische Bearbeitung der Schmetterlinge von Europa'' between 1843 and 1856, one of the most influential works on the higher classification of Lepidoptera of the 19th century. Many of the lepidopteran higher taxa recognized today were defined in this work for the first time. He based his classification mostly on wing venation. Parts of his collection went to Otto Staudinger at the Museum für Naturkunde in Berlin and M. J. Bastelberg at the Zoologische Staatssammlung München. Udea
''Udea'' is a genus of snout moths in the subfamily Spilomelinae of the family Crambidae. The genus was erected by Achille Guenée in 1845. The currently known 215 species are present on all continents except Antarctica. About 41 species are native to Hawaii. Systematics The genus is placed in the tribe Udeini, where it is closest related to the genera '' Mnesictena'', '' Deana'' and '' Udeoides''. In the past, ''Mnesictena'' was included in ''Udea'', but it is currently considered a separate genus comprising seven species. Dryopteris Carthusiana
''Dryopteris carthusiana'' is a species of fern native to damp forests throughout the Holarctic Kingdom. It is known as the narrow buckler-fern in the United Kingdom, and as the spinulose woodfern in North America. It is a tetraploid of hybrid origin, one parent being ''Dryopteris intermedia'', known in North America as the intermediate wood fern, and an unknown, apparently extinct species dubbed ''Dryopteris semicristata'', which is also the presumed parent of the hybrid-origin ''Dryopteris cristata''. This fern is often confused with several other wood fern species, including ''D. intermedia'', '' D. campyloptera'', and '' D. expansa''.
