Taylor Cameron Upsahl (; born November 28, 1998), known mononymously as Upsahl (stylized as UPSAHL), is an American singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. Her debut album, ''Lady Jesus'', was released in 2021. Early life Born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, Upsahl started playing both the guitar and piano at the age of 5. She attended Arizona School for the Arts and is classically trained in piano, guitar, and voice. Career Upsahl released a self-titled EP (as Taylor Upsahl) at age 14. In 2015, she wrote and self-produced her full-length debut album, "Viscerotonic." In 2017, her third album was released, "Unfamiliar Light." She quickly became a local favorite for national touring acts in Phoenix. Upsahl played the McDowell Mountain Music Festival in 2017, opening for The Shins, Beck, and Flume, and released her first single, "Can You Hear Me Now", that year. Lady Jesus
''Lady Jesus'' is the debut studio album recorded by American singer-songwriter Upsahl, released on October 8, 2021 by Arista Records. Four singles from the album, "Douchebag", "Lunatic", "Melatonin" and "Time of My Life", were released prior to the album's release, accompanied with official music videos. The album discusses and expresses anger and revenge against Upsahl's claimed ex-partner, who allegedly cheated on her and caused more drama after the incident. Composition Upsahl found inspiration for the majority of the song's lyrics, which she all took a part in contributing herself from a dramatic break-up she faced, after figuring out that her ex-partner was privately having an affair with another woman. She teamed up with record producers Dwilly, Jonny Shorr, Kill Dave and Pete Nappi to produce 10 tracks for the album in total, which they found inspiration from musical genres like funk and punk. Arizona School for the Arts is a non-profit public charter school in Phoenix, Arizona. Emphasis is placed on a college preparatory curriculum and the performing arts. Its mascot is a one-legged pigeon named Stumpy. History It was founded in 1995 by Mark S. Francis, with 155 students in grades 7–10. By 2002, it had grown to 280 students. Michael Kenji Shinoda (; ja, 篠田 賢治, Shinoda Kenji; born February 11, 1977) is an American musician, singer, rapper, songwriter and record producer. Absofacto is a solo project by musician Jonathan Visger, a member of Michigan-based indie rock band Mason Proper. In 2008, Visger released his first solo efforts, ''North South, Pt. 1'', under his own name, and ''Trilobite Trash'', under the pseudonym Bug Lung Baby.
