UNTV Cup Season 8
The UNTV Cup Season 8 was the 2019–2020 season of the annual charity basketball league in the Philippines, UNTV Cup. The tournament is organized by UNTV under the UNTV-37 Foundation, Inc., thru its chairman and chief executive officer of BMPI-UNTV, "Mr. Public Service" Kuya Daniel Razon. The season officially opened on September 9, 2019 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay. Regular games are held at the Pasig City Sports Center in Pasig and San Juan Gym in San Juan City with a live telecast on the UNTV Public Service channel every Sunday afternoon. Twelve teams are competing for the championship title this season. The best-of-three finals series was held on March 1 and 9, 2020, at the Paco Arena in Manila City and Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City, respectively. The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) was created in 1995 to implement universal health coverage in the Philippines. It is a tax-exempt, government-owned and controlled corporation (GOCC) of the Philippines, and is attached to the Department of Health. UNTV Cup Season 4
The UNTV Cup Season 4 was the 2015–2016 season of the public service-based basketball league, the UNTV Cup based in the Philippines. It was opened on August 24, 2015 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena, Pasay, as part of the activities for the 11th Anniversary of UNTV Life. Its final games was ended on March 14, 2016 at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum, Quezon City. John Rodney Santos (born May 30, 1973) is a Filipino coach and retired professional basketball player. He is also known as The Slasher for his slashing ability going to the basket. Collegiate career Santos played for the San Sebastian high school and college teams from 1991 to 1995, winning the Most Valuable Player award in 1994. The UNTV Cup Season 2 was the 2014 season of the public service-based basketball league, the UNTV Cup. It was opened on February 11, 2014, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, Quezon City. Its final games were held on July 8, 2014, at the same venue. UNTV Cup season two started its ceremonial toss on February 11, 2014, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, Quezon City. Ten teams participated this season; three more teams compared to the inaugural season. It was opened on July 29, 2013 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, Cubao, Quezon City. Its final games were held on November 5, 2013 at the same venue.
