The UMass Minutemen soccer team is a varsity intercollegiate athletic team of University of Massachusetts Amherst in Amherst, Massachusetts, United States. The team is a member of the Atlantic 10 Conference, which is part of the National Collegiate Athletic Association's Division I. UMass' first men's soccer team was fielded in 1930. Fran O'Leary
Fran O'Leary is an Irish soccer coach. He is currently the men's head coach for the UMass Minutemen. Playing career O'Leary played on the youth team of League of Ireland Club, St. Patrick's Athletic." Coaching career He started his coaching career as an assistant at Boston College, and later the University of New Hampshire. From 1989 to 1991, he served as the men's soccer head coach at Elmira College, where he posted a 38-11-2 record. 2017 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship
The 2017 NCAA Division I men's soccer tournament (also known as the 2017 College Cup) was the 59th annual single-elimination tournament to determine the national champion of NCAA Division I men's collegiate soccer. The first, second, third, and quarterfinal rounds were held at college campus sites across the United States during November and December 2017, with host sites determined by seeding and record. The four-team College Cup finals were played at Talen Energy Stadium in Chester, Pennsylvania on December 8 and 10. The Stanford Cardinal defended their 2016 title by defeating Indiana in golden goal overtime, 1–0, to claim the 2017 championship. Tasso Koutsoukos
Tasso Koutsoukos (born April 4, 195is a retired Canadian soccer player who played professionally in the North American Soccer League, Major Indoor Soccer League and Canadian Soccer League. He also coached in the Montreal Impact in the National Professional Soccer League. Player Koutsoukos played collegiate soccer at UMass Amherst from 1977 to 1979. He was a 1977 Honorable Mention (third team) All American. In 1980, the Chicago Sting selected Koutsoukos in the North American Soccer League draft. He played two outdoor and two indoor seasons with the Sting. In 1982, he began the season with Chicago. On June 13, 1982, the Sting traded Koutsoukos to the Tulsa Roughnecks in exchange for Tim Twellman and John Tyma. The Penn State Nittany Lions men's soccer team is an intercollegiate varsity sports team of Pennsylvania State University. The team is a member of the Big Ten Conference of the National Collegiate Athletic Association. Penn State's intercollegiate soccer program began in 1911 and has won or shared 11 national championships and 6 conference tournament championships. The Colgate Raiders are the athletic teams that represent Colgate University. Harvard Crimson Men's Soccer
The Harvard Crimson men's soccer team is an intercollegiate varsity sports team of Harvard University. The team is a member of the Ivy League of the National Collegiate Athletic Association. The Crimson fielded their first varsity team in 1905, making the team one of the oldest college soccer programs in the United States, and one of the oldest continuously operating soccer programs in the United States. The Boston University Terriers are the ten men's and fourteen women's varsity athletic teams representing Boston University in NCAA Division I competition.
