UEC European Track Championships – Men's Omnium
The Men's omnium at the European Track Championships was first competed in 2010. Prior to 2010, there were two elite omniums held annually: an endurance omnium and a sprint omnium. The Omnium consists of six different competitions over two days. Viktor Viktorovich Manakov (; born 9 June 1992) is a Russian professional racing cyclist, who rides for UCI Continental team . His parents Viktor Manakov and Jolanta Polikevičiūtė, and his aunt Rasa Polikevičiūtė were all professional cyclists. At the 2007 European Youth Summer Olympic Festival, Manakov represented Lithuania, but later switched to internationally compete for Russia. The 2018 UEC European Track Championships was the ninth edition of the elite UEC European Track Championships in track cycling and took place at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome in Glasgow, Scotland, between 2 and 7 August 2018. The event was organised by the European Cycling Union. All European champions were awarded the UEC European Champion jersey which may be worn by the champion throughout the year when competing in the same event at other competitions. Benjamin Thomas (born 12 September 1995) is a French professional road and track cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . He rode at the 2015 UCI Track Cycling World Championships. In August 2018, he was named in the startlist for the 2018 Vuelta a España. In October 2020, he was named in the startlist for the 2020 Giro d'Italia. He rode the Tour de France for the first time in 2022. On stage 15, Thomas broke away from the peloton and was attempting to get the first French win in over thirty stages, but was caught inside the final few hundred meters.
