UC Irvine Anteaters Men's Volleyball
The UC Irvine Anteaters men's volleyball team is the men's intercollegiate volleyball team at the University of California, Irvine. UC Irvine was a founding member of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation in the 1992–93 season. Beginning with the 2017–18 season, UCI moved to the Big West Conference's inaugural men's volleyball league. Irvine has won the NCAA Men's National Collegiate Volleyball Championship four times, and appeared in the tournament an additional three. The Donald Bren Events Center, commonly known as the Bren Events Center or simply the Bren, is a 5,608-seat indoor arena on the campus of the University of California, Irvine, in Irvine, California, Irvine, California, United States. Big West Conference
The Big West Conference (BWC) is an American collegiate athletic conference whose member institutions participate in the National Collegiate Athletic Association's Division I. The conference was originally formed on July 1, 1969, as the Pacific Coast Athletic Association (PCAA), and in 1988 was renamed the Big West Conference. The conference stopped sponsoring college football after the 2000 season. Among the conference's 11 member institutions, 10 are located in California (with 9 located in Southern California alone) and one is located in Hawaii. David Smith (volleyball)
David Smith (born May 15, 1985) is an American professional volleyball player who plays as a middle blocker for ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle and the U.S. national team. Smith was a bronze medalist at the Olympic Games Rio 2016 and the 2018 World Championship; the 2015 World Cup winner and a three–time Champions League winner (2021, 2022, 2023) with ZAKSA. Carson Clark (born January 20, 1989) is an American male volleyball player. He was part of the United States men's national volleyball team at the 2014 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship in Poland. Kévin Tillie (born 2 November 1990) is a French professional volleyball player who plays as an outside hitter for Projekt Warsaw and the France national team. NCAA Men's National Collegiate Volleyball Championship
The NCAA men's volleyball tournament, officially titled the NCAA National Collegiate Men's Volleyball Championship, is an annual competition that determines the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) championship in American college men's volleyball. It had been the only NCAA championship in the sport from 1970 until 2012, when the NCAA launched a Division III championship. Unlike most NCAA sports, men's volleyball uses a modified version of the National Collegiate championship format, which means Division I and Division II teams compete against each other in the same tournament. Mountain Pacific Sports Federation
The Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) is a college athletic conference with members located mostly in the western United States, although it now has members as far east as Pennsylvania. The conference participates at the NCAA Division I level, primarily in Olympic sports that are not directly sponsored by a school's home conference (such as the Pac-12 and Big West, whose members all participate in MPSF competition in at least one of its sports). 2007 NCAA Men's Volleyball Tournament
The 2007 NCAA men's volleyball tournament was the 38th annual tournament to determine the national champion of NCAA men's collegiate indoor volleyball. The single elimination tournament was played at St. John Arena in Columbus, Ohio during May 2007. UC Irvine defeated IPFW in the final match, 3–1 (30–20, 24–30, 30–23, 30–28), to win their first national title. Both teams made their debut appearances in the title match.
