Team Pursuit
The team pursuit is a track cycling event similar to the individual pursuit, except that two teams, each of up to four riders, compete, starting on opposite sides of the velodrome. Race format Both men's and women's events are competed over a distance of 4 km, by a team of 4 riders. Prior to the start of the 2012–13 season the women's event was competed over a distance of 3 km, by a team of 3 riders. As with the individual pursuit, the objective is to cover the distance in the fastest time or to catch and overtake the other team in a final. Riders in a team follow each other closely in line, drafting to minimize total drag, and periodically the lead rider (who works the hardest) peels off the front, swings up the track banking and rejoins the team at the rear. Danilo Hondo
Danilo Hondo (born 4 January 1974) is a German former professional road bicycle racer. He won the German National Road Race in 2002. He competed in the men's team pursuit at the 1996 Summer Olympics. He was banned from professional cycling and then later won his appeal to return to the sport. From January 2015 to May 2019, Hondo worked as a coach for the Swiss cycling federation, first for the under-23 squad and then with the elite. He owns a bike shop on the island of Majorca. Matthew "Matt" Hamon (born September 3, 1968, in San Francisco) is a former American professional cyclist whose prime competitive years spanned from 1988–1996. He competed in the team pursuit at the 1992 Summer Olympics. Hamon was a member to the US National Team in 1990, 1993–96 and a 1992 Olympian. Bradley John McGee OAM (born 24 February 1976 in Sydney, New South Wales) is an Australian former professional racing cyclist. He is currently the head coach of the New South Wales Institute of Sport (NSWIS). He started cycling in 1986 at the age of ten. He lives in Sydney and in Nice, France. 1995 UCI Track Cycling World Championships
The 1995 UCI Track Cycling World Championships were the World Championship for track cycling. They took place in Bogotá, Colombia from September 26 to 30. Twelve events were contested, eight for the men and four for the women at the Velódromo Luis Carlos Galán. There were three events held at the championships for the first time: men's team sprint ( women's team sprint followed in 2007), men's madison and women's 500 m time trial.
