UCI Road World Championships – Mixed Team Relay
The UCI Road World Championships – Mixed team relay is a world championship for road bicycle racing in the discipline of team time trial. It is organized by the world governing body, the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI). First staged at the 2019 UCI Road World Championships The 2019 UCI Road World Championships was the 92nd edition of the UCI Road World Championships, the annual world championships for road bicycle racing. The race is held with national teams, which each have 6 riders per team, 3 women and 3 men. The event features two laps of a course around to in length, with the women and men each doing one lap, one after another. The team with the shortest time to complete both laps wins. Team Time Trial
A team time trial (TTT) is a road bicycle race in which teams of cyclists race against the clock (see individual time trial for a more detailed description of ITT events). The winning team in a TTT is determined by the comparing the times of (usually) the fourth-finishing rider in each team (though the relevant finish position can be otherwise specified in advance by the race organisers). This means that each team will try to get their first four (at least) riders across the finish line in a tight group: it is actually a disadvantage for any rider to finish far in advance of the fourth rider, as by staying back a faster rider can help the fourth rider to get a quicker time. Where a TTT is part of a stage race, it is necessary for each rider to be given a finish time that can be cumulated into the general classification timings. Annemiek van Vleuten (born 8 October 1982) is a Dutch professional road racing cyclist, who rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam . Van Vleuten is a two-time winner of both the road race (2019 and 2022) and the time trial (2017 and 2018) at the UCI Road World Championships. Maximilian Richard "Max" Walscheid (born 13 June 1993) is a German cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . Career Walscheid was born in Neuwied. On 23 January 2016, he was one of the six members of who were hit by a car which drove into on-coming traffic while they were training in Spain. All riders were in stable condition. Nikias Arndt (born 18 November 1991) is a German professional track and road cyclist, who rides for UCI WorldTeam . Career Arndt rode for between 2010 and 2012, before joining the team for the 2013 season. He achieved his first professional victory at the 2013 Arctic Race of Norway, winning the third stage, en route to finishing third overall behind Thor Hushovd and Kenny van Hummel. Harry Tanfield (born 17 November 1994) is a British cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Continental team . Career From Great Ayton in Yorkshire, England, Tanfield rode for in 2015 and in 2016, before joining for the 2017 season. At the British National Track Championships, Tanfield finished third as part of the men's team pursuit and second in the men's omnium. Daniel John Bigham (born 2 October 1991) is a British racing cyclist, who rode for UCI Continental team from 2018 until 2021. He rode in the men's individual pursuit event at the 2018 UCI Track Cycling World Championships.
