UCF Knights Women's Volleyball
The UCF Knights women's volleyball program represents the University of Central Florida in National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) Division I. The Knights compete in the Big 12 Conference and play their home games on UCF's main campus in Orlando, Florida at The Venue at UCF. The Knights are currently led by head coach Jenny Maurer. History The Knights volleyball program began in 1975 under Lucy McDaniel, who would lead the team through the 1979 season. The Knights went 30–8–0 in their inaugural year. The highlight of McDaniel's tenure at UCF, and the women's volleyball program, was their 1978 perfect 55–0 season in which they won the Division II AIAW National Championship. In 1982, the team joined their first conference, the Sunshine State Conference, which they left following the 1983 season. The Venue At UCF
The Venue at UCF is a sports and entertainment arena located in Orlando, Florida on the main campus of The University of Central Florida. The arena which was opened in 1991, housed the Knights men's and women's basketball teams from 1991 to 2007, and has served as home to UCF's volleyball team since 1991. The Venue also serves as a practice facility for the university's basketball teams, and houses administrative offices for the same. The Venue is , and boosts 2,500 fixed seats, or up to 3,000 standing-room general admission. The Venue can be configured for concerts, family events, musical theatre, commencements, and other stage shows and sporting events. The Venue is owned by the university, and is managed by Global Spectrum, a subsidiary of Philadelphia-based Comcast Spectacor. 1995 NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Tournament
The 1995 NCAA Division I women's volleyball tournament began with 48 teams and ended on December 16, 1995, when Nebraska defeated Texas 3 games to 1 in the NCAA championship match. Nebraska defeated Texas 11-15, 15-2, 15-7, 16-14. Nebraska was led by Katie Crnich and Billie Winsett who each had 25 kills. Impact Of The COVID-19 Pandemic On Sports

2022 NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Tournament
The 2022 NCAA Division I women's volleyball tournament was a single-elimination tournament of 64 teams that determined the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I women's volleyball national champion for the 2022 season. The 42nd edition of the tournament began on December 1, 2022 in various college campuses across the country, location determinations were chosen based on participating teams seedings. The 2021 NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Tournament began on December 2, 2021 and ended on December 18th, 2021, to determine the Division I National Champion in women's volleyball. Wisconsin won its first NCAA National Championship by defeating Big Ten rival Nebraska 3–2. The championship match was played in front of an NCAA record crowd of 18,755. 2017 National Invitational Volleyball Championship
The 2017 National Invitational Volleyball Championship began on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 and concluded on Tuesday, December 12. The first 15 automatic qualifying teams were announced on Sunday, November 21, and the full field was announced after the NCAA Tournament selection show on the night of Sunday, November 26. All games were played at on-campus sites, and the finals were streamed live on ESPN3. Originally announced as featuring 64 teams, the inaugural tournament was limited to 32 teams. The University of Mississippi's "Ole Miss" Rebels hosted one of the eight regional tournaments, where they defeated Stephen F. Austin 3–0 and Arkansas State 3–1. While remaining a host team through the rest of the tournament, Ole Miss downed Georgia 3–0 in the quarterfinals, West Virginia 3–0 in the semifinals, and Texas Tech 3–0 in the championship match. 2014 NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Tournament
The 2014 NCAA Division I women's volleyball tournament began on December 4 and concluded on December 20 at Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The tournament field was announced on November 30. Penn State defeated BYU in the finals to win the school's 7th NCAA title. The 2003 NCAA Division I women's volleyball tournament began on December 4, 2003 with 64 teams and ended December 18 when Southern California defeated Florida 3 games to 1 in Dallas, Texas for the program's third NCAA title and sixth national title overall. It was Southern California's second consecutive NCAA title.
