U.S. Route 2 (US 2) is a part of the United States Numbered Highway System that is split into two segments, one between Washington and Michigan and the other between New York and Maine. In New Hampshire, US 2 runs from the Vermont state line at the Connecticut River in Lancaster east to the Maine state line in Shelburne. US 2 is the main highway through the White Mountains across southern Coös County, where it also passes through Jefferson, Randolph, and Gorham. Santa's Village (Jefferson, New Hampshire)
Santa's Village is a Christmas-themed amusement park located in Jefferson, New Hampshire. Most of the 23 rides have Christmas or winter-themed names, such as "Rudy's Rapid Transit Coaster" and "The Great Humbug Adventure". The rides are designed for families with children under age 13. There are also three theatres, two of which present live shows and a third that features a 3-D film called ''A Tinkerdoodle Christmas''. Mount Starr King (New Hampshire)
Mount Starr King is a mountain located in Coos County, New Hampshire. The mountain is named after Thomas Starr King (1824–1864), and is part of the Pliny Range of the White Mountains. Mt. Starr King is flanked to the east by Mount Waumbek, and to the northwest by Haystack Mountain. Starr King is drained by various brooks into the Israel River, and thence into the Connecticut River and Long Island Sound. The Willard Basin Ski Area development was proposed and surveyed for the northern slope of Mount Starr King in the mid-1960s. The U.S. Post Office–Lancaster Main is a historic post office at 120 Main Street in Lancaster, New Hampshire. Built in 1935, it is one of the few examples of Art Deco architecture in northern New Hampshire. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986. Description and history Lancaster's main post office stands just north of the town's central business district, amid a cluster of civic and religious buildings. It is set close to the street at the southwest corner of Main and School Streets, giving it a visually commanding location in the town center, where most of the buildings are set back. Wilder-Holton House
The Wilder-Holton House is a historic house museum at 226 Main Street in Lancaster, New Hampshire. Built in 1780, this two-story timber-frame house is believed to be the first two-story house built in the area, and to be the oldest surviving house in Coos County. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975. The house is now owned by the Lancaster Historical Society, which operates it as a museum.
