U.S.A. (Da Pump Song)
"U.S.A." is a song by Japanese boy band Da Pump. It is a cover of the 1992 song by Italian singer Joe Yellow of the same name. The song was released on June 6, 2018. "U.S.A." is Da Pump's first single in three and a half years after the release of "New Position" in 2014. Initially Da Pump and their management had low expectations for their comeback, as their promotion events only took place at shopping malls. However, it soon became a summer hit, peaking high on various Japanese music charts. Music video The music video features the members of Da Pump dancing in a dark room lit up in colorful lights. Da Pump
is a Japanese boy band made up of lead vocalist, Issa Hentona and MCs Ken Okumoto, Yukinari Tamaki and Shinobu Miyara. The band formed as students at Okinawa Actors School in 1996. They made their debut on the Avex Trax subsidiary avex tune under the guidance of producer Akio Togashi on June 11, 1997, with "Feelin' Good - It's Paradise". As one of the few male bands unassociated with Johnny's Entertainment, they were the first to gain major popularity reaching their peak in 2001 with the release of ''Da Best of Da Pump''. On April 7, 2006, Shinobu formally left the band following a hiatus due to a drunk driving incident in 2005. The band went on an unofficial hiatus at the end of 2006. On December 18, 2008, it was announced that Yukinari was leaving the band and that Ken and Issa were actively looking for his replacement. (also known as CDTV) is a Japanese late-night music television program, broadcast on TBS since 1993. The program is shown weekly, and features a Japanese music video hit chart countdown, live performances from musicians and music information. It is presented by three CGI-animated hosts.
